Teacher say average paper.

General student comment is Paper 1 Easy, Paper 2 Some Tough Questions, maybe to differential the good from the rest.

Since PSLE T-score is a measure of a child's performance relative to his cohort. An easy paper is not necessarily \"better\" than a difficult paper. It really depends on the child's strength in various subjects. If all papers are relatively easy, it will favor those students who are more careful and do not tend to make careless mistakes.

Since the absolute score does not really matter. I don't wish for easy papers, just wish my DS performs at his best whatever is the difficulty level of the paper.
              ...
              Agree, better difficult than easy.

DS is the careless type and gets excited by getting the difficult question correct.

I was blasted by him once for scolding him for getting \"Simple Questions\" wrong with silly mistakes as I only look at the wrong answers, he pointed at 1 question saying that almost whole class get the difficult question wrong and he is one of the few who got it correct, I was angry and said \"SO, big due?\", that 1 question does not give you 100 marks.

Same here. DS spent lots of time on Maths and yet it's easy... 😞 Does it imply that one is unlikely to get A* if he does not get close to 100 marks for Maths?
for those who do not know how to do the pattern question here is my solution.

untill patern 3 , it increased by 8 right? After that it increases by five. Students may become pretty confused. when seeing this. Then it increases by 8 again. So it should increase by 5 for pattern 6 so it should be 46 rods. For height it increases by 3 after every even number (multiples of 2). So pattern 6 is : (6/2)x3 = 9 height for pattern 119 is

119-3=116 ( beacuse for the first three patterns it increases y 8 then it increases by 5 and 8 respectively)

                      116/2 = 58

So there are 58 5 rod cubes and 58 8 rod cubes.

                      58x5 + 58x8 = 754

Now you have to add 28 to it ( the total of the first three patterns)

                      754 +28=782

now for height of pattern 119: like i have mentioned earlier the height increases by an even number by three cm. Since pattern 19 is not n even number minus one

                      119-1=118

                      118/2 = 59

There are 59 sets of 3

                      59x3=177 (height for pattern 18)

we found out 117 is the height for pattern18

now add another three cm to it. I think you know why.

                      177+3=180[colour/]
