Hi Tinkerbelle,
Hi cantbearit2,
I agree that you should opt out of the dental prog. if you feel so uncomfortable about it. Just remember to remind your DD that she's not to have any dental treatment at sch because the dentist will sometimes ask girls to go for dental check-ups during recess and/or before lessons start. If your DD is not aware, she might just hop on that dental chair.... :politebleah: But not to worry, I'm sure the dentist will check the consent form.
Ya, quite a few forms to fill in during orientation but I can't remember the exact number...sorry. If I remember correctly, there is a form to update pupil's details, a form for Edusave Fund, a Giro application form for paying fees, Dental consent form and a consent form for catechism lessons.
Don't forget to bring NRIC for both parents and bank account number for Giro form.
Ya, need to make payment on Orientation Day. Don't know if there will be a price hike next year, but this year, we paid $77.50 (for those taking Chinese) and $63.50 (for those taking other Mother Tongues). Breakdown of fees: Gymnastics fees for the year-$60, Report book-$3.50 and subscription fee for Chinese 'hao peng you' (35 issues)- $14.
:thankyou: :thankyou: :thankyou: -
Time really flies.... Now oredi Oct.. 2mths more and they r gonna be in P1!!!!

Hi autumn82,
SO exciting, right? The next 2 months will come and go quickly.
Your DD should enjoy the orientation programme. Get to come in full MCS uniform and meet form teacher & classmates.
What do you mean \"get to come in full MCS uniform\"??? :scratchhead:
Can explain?
Hi cantbearit 2,
If there are no changes next year, all the P1 gals will have to attend orientation in full uniform on the 20 Nov. Yep, that's right, you need to buy uniform and shoes in Nov. in time for orientation day. The sch will send an official letter to all parents early Nov. to inform you about orientation details.
Just to share, when shopping for uniform, maybe can buy a size bigger because some kids can really grow over the holidays. My P1 DD had a growth spurt and her skirt became a mini skirt end of term 2.....
Congratulations on getting a call from the childcare centre.

chergaby:
Yup, b'cos of distance. If they have many CCA along the way, no need to depend on CCA bus. Jus pop in to the student care after CCA (if in morning session).

Don't compare the pl with a childcare environment and u will find it easier to accept.
Went to a few bomb shelter kind of student care, find it cold and unhealthy and no proper pl for activities.
Good Shepard, although looks a bit run down does cater for the different activities. It seems pretty cosy too. Check out the pl ya?! -

I can't wait..... lor!!!

Not to worry. So far I've not heard from DDs that MCS girls bully others because they are \"short\" or \"small-sized\". As a matter of fact, DD1 has always been one of the shortest girl in her class every year. Most people think she's in P3...ke ke. -

One time he even bit her. She came home with two semi-circle of teeth marks....sigh. The teacher has since take note of that boy so that my DD1 will not get bully again.
subsequently (in N2), we trf her to another cc due to logistics issue. She rarely gets bullied since her class has more (really more) girls than boys. haha.... Thus both DH and I thot that an all girls environment shld be more suitable for her.
Only concern is my DS3. We have to find another sch for him. hee....he is only 9 mths old. When he goes to cc, maybe he will be the one who's bulling others. hee.... but mummy is very fierce lor. :spank: and will not hesitate to use the rod. :rotflmao: -

Not to worry. No one will bite her at the Good Shepherd Childcare Centre.
Wow!! You planning to find a sch for your 9mth DS already?
