Why would they need to have so many decimal places to tell them apart at prelims? Are the students all ranked at prelims?
yes, but the ranking position is not in the report book ....lol
for the prelim results, it happened that my DS has a few classmates that needed quite a few decimal places to tell them apartverykiasu2010:

I was initially told (years ago) it was up to 6 decimals and I was already like  .
Over the years, it seems like the digits behind the decimal point have increased (due to \"inflation\"? ). I wonder if it is really needed for 15 decimal places
but anyway, these days it is all in the super computer in MOE, they can chop off at whichever decimal places they want
then they will compare with the actual psle t-score, individually tracked
every year like that -

VS is a nice school , some of my friends i met online are in that school, and my friend in sec 1 had the chance to go TaiWan just in his first year with his choir !If T-score = 245, shld DS choose VS, Anglican High or Tanjong Katong?
If T-score = 240, shld DS choose Anglican or Tanjong Katong?
We are in the East.
Any advice? :? -

Thx. DS has set his mind for TK even if his T-score is good enough to go to a better sch. So shld i support his decision or shld i try to convince him if he has a reasonable good T-score in Nov?

NYPS must be the only school that does that. So detailed. Some schools don't even provide highest, lowest, mean scores of the cohort for prelims.

CHS, TNS also do that. No ?
understand T-score is calculated up till 13 decimals for central posting.
15 decimal places

Attended a parents' briefing at DD's sch beginning of the year and was told by the Principal that MOE computates PSLE aggregate scores up to 6 decimal places. When was the 15 decimal places implemented?? :scratchhead: -

but anyway, no two students will ever get the same t-score up to 15 decimal places....the probability is almost sero -

Thanks for the update. Good to know that MOE has a system in place to ensure no 2 students will have the same T- score.... -

Just bring more tissue paper. It can be tears of joy or tears of sadness on the day of the release of results.
oh dear, it makes us nervous, our kids are having their exams now and we are already guessing their T-scores. Can't imagine when the day comes when the results are released
