how old are your kids? if they are big enough…u can try skiing? personally i love seoul cos of the food and it’s quite kid friendly, perhaps cheaper than japan?
skiing… it’s fun and not as dangerous as i thought! my husband brought us to ski resort in seoul some time back and it was quite nice and not too far away! and there is SNOW! -
Just a word of caution, hazy in HK so not suitable for kids. Korea is good but the itinerary could be quite hectic if you are following the tour, eg waking up at 7am, etc. so, if there are parents out there planning to go from around 23 Dec to 03 Jan to Korea, and we can ask the agent to do a little adjustment for us. we need about 18 pax to form a departure. ( 4 on my end). Otherwise, I am planning to bring my kids to Harbin to watch the ice sculptor

today’s paper says the HK air is worse than during SARS
as for Harbin Ice Festival for the sculptures, it opens every year only on Jan 15. -

Mount Whistler in Canada!! Beautiful, beautiful little ski village. Canadian $$ is more affordable than US $$

What about spending Christmas week in Rovaniemi, Finland (cannot recall exact spelling)? That's Santa Claus Viilage in the Lapland. I've had one of my best Christmas there, many years ago. Hope to be able to bring my kiddos there one day. -
