Does it mean that even though they don't get into GEP, they are automatically assured a good class next year?

Aahhhh... That was in my mind as well. I think it depends on the individual school's policy. I inquired at my DD's school and was told that the school's streaming policy outside gep is based purely on school results. No brownie points for getting through round 1 gep. This is for RGPS.

DS says Eng paper was difficult, Maths challenging and he did not finish section B. Also says both GA papers are fun and easy. Overall good experience for him.

Hi all, some of the questions that were tested in today's math paper, not in exact words...

                Qn
                48 24 22 (?) 9

                Qn
                Jack and Beautrice weigh 60kg
                Jack and Daniel weigh 50kg
Beautrice and Daniel weigh 70 kg
What is the mass of Jack ?

                Qn
10 lamp posts were placed on a 360 m road. The first and last lamp post were placed on both ends of the road. What is the distance between the second and fifth lamp posts ?

                Qn
On Monday, a fruit seller sold some pineapples (represented by 3 pineapple symbols). On Tuesday, he sold some pineapples again (also represented by 3 pineapple symbols). Total number of pineapples sold was 48.
How many pineapples (in terms of symbols) did he sell on Wednesday ?

Hope to give parents a feel of what kind of questions were being tested for today's GEP paper. Would be happy to hear comments from other parents as well...

My girl said in front should have 50.

                  Qn : 50, 48, 24, 22, (?), 9

                  ans : 11
                  working = (50) - 2 = 48, (48 ) / 2 = 24, (24) - 2 = 22, (22) / 2 = 11, (11) - 2 = 9

most GEP schools would have by now a category called \"high ability\" class which caters for those who just missed the GEP selection by a little....around the 95th - 99th percentile, since GEP is for the 99th ~ 100th percentile

they would probably band them tightly in those classes for accelerated learning and allocate the best subject teachers .... (logically speaking)

                        your kid in NYPS ?

those with good results in P3, plus just missed the GEP selection, will be in \"high ability\" class, for the last 3 years. Not sure what the new principal will do this year
