this is not so straight forward as PVs in most schools.

Ya. Luckily he was tested on the "HDB" poem, we were keeping out fingers cross on the "Four seasons song"

Hi… Any parents care to advice me how to "upgrade" my chance to phase 2b? I dont stay near the school. I try to call sbf but they do not accept individual members. Thank you.

Apart from a recommendation from the sbf and joining the grassroots, there is no other way. Just curious… why must be MBS?

there are several reasons.
1) buddhism culture. We will prefer them to be exposed to buddha's teaching from young.
2) language background. We believe MBS can give them strong chinese language foundation. (of cos other schools r able but considering pt 1 as a package)
3) we quite like the school compound.
so based on what grounds will sbf give referal? -
Apart from the weekly contact time done by a group of volunteers and buddhism period, the teachers don’t speak buddhism. Even the Vesak Day celebration was so quiet.
The venerable of the temple will write a recommendation letter to SBF. From there, SBF will issue the official recommendation letter to MBS (this one is based on the number of vacancy for that phase). Not everyone will get this official letter from SBF. After you have registered, that doesn’t gurantee you a secure place as the grassroots will also register in this phase.

Actually, alot of teachers are non-buddhist  My girl's CL teacher is a christian. I am not surprised since there are malay teachers as well and Singapore is a multi-racial and religion country.Apart from the weekly contact time done by a group of volunteers and buddhism period, the teachers don't speak buddhism. Do think twice about it if being in a buddhism environment is #1 on your list. I think you are better off sending your child to a Sunday school at a temple. -
Of cos need not necessary that everyone in that school is a buddhist. In fact it will be good if there is a mix. Wad i meant was at least there is option for buddhist studies.
