I also wan to send my daugther to Sgp for Sec 1 in 2010. Does anyone know how to 'map' the Msia school results to Sgp PSLE equivalent? She's from a premier Chinese language school in JB and though not in top class, but top 30% of school, and speaks v good English, I think. We have no T-score, no talented sports/music, so how do we get started?

My daughter is from JB and started her education in singapore since Primary 1. I suggest that u first go to the ICA building to apply for a student pass in order to study in singapore. Are u considering to live in singapore or let her cross the causeway everyday? it would be very tiring to choose the latter. the cca's will be very long and by the time ur child reach home, ur child won't even have the energy to complete ur homework. futhermore, sec schs in woodlands area is not very good. My P6 daughter is considering to live in singapore next year for her sec 1. Hope u find this information useful

You can choose to register with MOE, so they’ll conduct a placement test. Be warned: Your child may end up not going to S1 if they do not do well for the test.
Or you can choose to go to the school direct to enquire and different schools will have different requirements. Some strictly refer you back to MOE.
