Hi cantbearit2
That's cos I wrote in to the school describing my predicaments and thst the school's transport company wasn't willing to help me out with this request of mine nor do the other companies that I approached.
I was gonna write in to thee principal this week if I had no reply but thankfully I got a very positive response.
Happy for you.

Couple of options that I have in mind...We don't stay very far fr MCS actually, staying at Balestier. Bt P1 & 2 are in the afternoon session, we'll have to drive our gal very early in the morning at 7am to my parents' place at serangoon, thereafter she'll have to take school bus fr Serangoon to school, which is a longer journey than from balestier. I don't think she'll have enough sleep with all that shuttling around and having to wake up so early. After school, she probably take a different school back to balestier, our home, that will double our school bus fees. Our challenge is to knock off work at 6pm, rush to pick our boy from childcare n then rush home in time before her school bus reaches. I cannot imagine the rush!
It really doesn't make sense for working parents to register their kids in schools within 1-2km from home when nobody will be home to look after the kids for half a day. This registration process is so flawed. Sigh...
1) Would you be or your folks or in laws be ok to stay at your place?
2) Have you considered getting a domestic help aka maid? It'll ease the logistics hassles and the extra cost that you'll incur withthe maid will also help you saves more time on travelling and other household chores -

Hi preciousmoments,Hi, may I ask, for new P1 girls, when do they start CCAs? 1st, 2nd, 3rd term? Cos I understand that P1 Catholic High boys start their CCAs in 3rd term. Are the girls selected for CCAs like gymnastics, dance etc or do they get to choose the CCAs they want?
Thanks!
P1 girls will start their CCA in Term 1, about week 3. The sch will give out letters inviting students to join a CCA. Joining is not compulsory. Students can choose any CCA that is available to P1 without selection trials, except for Drama Club, which requires an audition. From P2 onwards, only students who display great potential in the respective CCAs will be selected through the Talent Identificatiopn Programme. -

Just wanna update you that I received a call from the school's official transport company offering the service from my place on Elias Road to MCS. Fees are doubled and timing is early, ie est, 10.30am pick up and 8pm drop off. I'm actually happy that my situation has improved from where I was previously and am ok with the transport charges. Only concerned about the travel time though I'm thankful for what's come my way so far.[/quote]Hi fmastuki,
Hi fmastuki,Tinkerbelle:

Hi Tinkerbelle. Thanks anyway. I've written to the school site seeeking some help from them in finding out if there are any other students that lives in the east, ie Bedok, Tampines or Pasir Ris that are interested in the school bus. If I could get 10 students, I could possibly get a school transport company to arrange for a combi bus. Otherwise, it'll be difficult for me to send my girl to school as it clashes with my work.
Wishing you all the best. :xedfingers:
:celebrate: Congrats. I'm glad to hear that your transportation worries are now well taken care of. Are there other MCS students on the same bus as your DD? -

May I know does MCS conduct overseas educational tours?
Hi Callie Tan,
MCS does conduct overseas educational tours, but only for the P4-P5 girls. -
Hi,
Good luck to all the P1-P5 for their SA2 exams. :ugogirl: -
Hi all,
Anyone rec any letter regarding the orientation? Some sch have already issued letters regarding the itinerary for the day to parents. -
Was about to ask this too…
Heard that the girls need to put on uniform during orientation. Need time to prepare, isn’t it? Also heard that lead time to sew the name tags is abt 6 wks, wonder if we’ll have enough time to get them or not. -
