Hi Callie, I know of people who sent their kids to Townsville , I find that the school management is quite good and systematic.
I suspect that Marymount, is just because of their name that why people sent their child to that school.
But i think Townsville is good because of their infrastructure.
      Hi concern.mum,

Juz to clarify, we did not go for MCS for their name but rather their strong emphasis on CCA. We had also preferred a more holistic environment for our DD. MCS being a convent sch gives us more confidence in character building.

So far, there has been very positive review on their English program (teachers at MCS compiled the \"Speak Good English\" campaign resource materials) and CCA. The teachers have also been complimented by several existing parents.

Rythmic Gym is also a niche program (MOE funding of S$150,000 for 3 yrs for sch with recognised niche program to assist in developing talent) in MCS.

Of course, we can only find out more details for ourself next yr when DD starts her P1.

Hope that clears the air. πŸ˜„

        Hi cantbearit,

Oh, I did not know that Marymount had so many strong programmes, sorry, I was remembering how it was from years ago..but let me know more about it when your DD starts and how it is...cos I have relatives in the north who want to find a good school, their kids are in K1 now.

Hi, hi, all parents here, i am new here, and my DD is 4yrs old, i am alrdy feeling the anxiety of preparing for P1 registration coz we hv to decide soon. My hubby is ex student fr Rulang Pri Sch (Jurong West), and is an alumni member so it means we definitely guaranteed a place there. However we are currently staying in Punggol, and if we decide to stay put in Punggol, we are near to MeeToh, but subject to balloting and volunteer work within 1km distance criteria.

We are currently in a dilemma, whether we should shift out of Punggol back to Jurong West to get into Rulang or start to prepare for volunteer work regsitration in MeeToh Pri Sch. Can any parents advise which school is better? how do i find out? Pls advise kindly. Thank you v v much!!

like they said, a bird in hand is better than two in the bushes

jurong lakeside is coming up nicely, and it is no longer that ulu nor dusty, the rubbish burning facilities has been shut, many factories have moved out, many new nice condo around (cheaper), nice shopping at jurong point, imm, and mrt all the way to tuas liao

Hi Parents, I am an old girl of Pei Chun in Toa Payoh and I live just opposite ACS primary school thus P2C less than 1 KM.Which might potentially need to ballot.

                Which would you chose?

Simple - register at Pei Chun first in P2A, get your confirmed place there. In P2C, monitor the situation at ACPS and if confirmed no balloting for less than 1km, withdraw from Pei Chun and register at ACPS!

Agree...esp since ACPS has affiliated secondary school. Secure your place in Pei Chun first. Remember to register on that day though.

Yes, one parent at each school. Both parents need not be present, but both nrics (and all other required documents) must be with the parent who's registering. You do not need the nrics for withdrawal.

ACS is a great school, hope your DS will get a place there. Good luck!
