all word lists / phrase list that is within PSLE scope will be covered by the teachers - based on the text books and the ting xie list as provided by the NYPS teachers

those word list / phrase list are meant to be applied during the exams at the appropriate levels although there is no specific ting xie per se at actual SA or CA test

      Thank you for the information.

I actually find this to be rather confusing from the school. Why provide a ting xie list to the students every time before a SA or CA, when it is not specifically for the forth coming test/exam.

For students, and parents who are already trying and struggling to catch up, this is another unnecessary hurdle.

There seemed to be a lack of informing on the part of the school as well. Too often, a document , or list of something is given out, and for whatever reasons, we are assumed to know of it and what to do.

      Maybe it is just me...

the list is part of the exam scope

ting xie is weekly test, not in CA / SA

once you mastered the ting xie, you should know how to apply it in CA / SA

have you attended the meet the teacher session ?

I have not attended any of the meet the teacher sessions. There was this once I've arranged to speak to the teacher over the phone instead because our time just cld not meet. Though she was very helpful, I can tell that she is very pressed for time. I know she is either taking the next call, or leaving to meet the next parent. All these are timed I figured. And I asked myself if it make any sense to meet in person at all, though almost everytime I tried to make it.

For Chinese, it doesn't help that my son's class since P2 till now P3 there have been so many change of the chinese teacher, till now it is like the third or forth. The relief teacher is for most of the time, always angry ,and shouting at the class. It is always a relief teacher. Unfortuantely, relief teachers for most of the time, they just do not have the vested interest to groom the class as their stay is short and there is just no benefit whatsoever should the class do well.

Just my take and observation, I may wrong.

        Apologies for the ranting.
