      hi all,

can i check if there are any interesting math enrichment program for kids? my daughter is 4 this year and i wld like her to build up her foundation in math. but am afraid if its just math alone then it’ll be too dull for her and she may not sit still in class. any suggestions for programs that can make math more interesting for young kids? thanks!

        Hi

I intend to send my 4-yr old gal for maths enrichment. However, I do not know whether I should send her to Montessori Maths, MPM or Enopi.

Any mummies have any experience with any of these enrichment?

I went to enquire at MPM and am impressed by the interesting materials that they provide. I think it makes Math interesting.

            Mimama:

To all mummies, not sure if this question is valid....if a child is attending Montessori CC, would MPM or any of the Math enrichment course clash with the Montessori Math that a child is exposed to?

            Heyya Mimama, it shouldn't. 😄

Montessori Mathematics guides children with concrete impressions to help
him visualize the number representations he sees in books and worksheets.
It helps him make sense of Math concepts and embeds the independent
nature to figure Math out from all the hands-on experiences done within
the classroom. As with all Montessori lessons, all children are exposed to
learning from concrete to abstract. Hence, while the concrete provides for
visual understanding, the abstract helps make the transition from the 3D
experiences to paper, where it is commonly done these days in schools.

So, I'd say any other extra Math enrichment that you are planning to
send him to would only escalate his learning experience and should not
confuse him. But that's my opinion since my children are also Montessori
            trained.

            Hi Bud,
Any good montesorri enrichment centre at North east to recommend?

            Thanks!

I'm not sure la, KS_me.

I don't stay around that area, sorry yeah.. :salute:
But if there are any MPM or Enopi centres within the
area, you should go down and check out their materials.
Montessori that i know only in Sengkang, but that's a child
care set-up. Dunno if they do offer Montessori Enrichment
programmes during weekends like some other centres do.

You're welcome! Yes, different centres and its varying techniques will also
offer different concrete materials for children to work with. The objectives
are the same across the board... TO ENRICH. 😉

So when it is fun to learn, children will be enriched. :celebrate:

Hope your child will find Math even more interesting than it already is with
Montessori. 😉 Hope your child has fun with MPM! Cheers! :celebrate:
