He already went back to school last wed, watched tschoukball competition, and formal dining and was totally fine during the weekend when at home. He was also fine when I saw him on Monday, leh (i forgot to give him pocket money!!!!!!!!!). Then dunno how he suddenly got ill.

I have the same problem with the distance (staying in the east) and the broading programe. My son is offered a place from the DSA. We are now trying to make the decision on the schools. He needs to make his choices for the DSA by 30th Oct. His other choices is Dunman High (confirmed offer) and RI (waiting list). He wants RI to be his first choice and do not know which school to be his second choices in case he cannot make it to RI.


My heart tell me to go NJC but my wife says Dunman High.

May be someone can give us some advise or guidance?

I believe that you should let your son decide. Whichever school he is in, the most important thing is that he is happy in his new school. He will have more of a heart to learn if he is in a school of his choice. If he is forced to go to a certain school against his will, he may not enjoy it there, and not do well. Personally, I feel that DHS is better. It is higher up in the school rankings, and their new campus is less dangerous, with no roads within the compounds other than the carpark.

Is BGR a big distraction in school? There was a buzz among my son’s primary school boys (currently in different secondary boys’ schools) that their ex-classmate in NJC had gone out for "4 dates with the same girl" within months of starting Sec 1. There are probably similar cases in other schools too as kids nowadays are a lot more exposed than our time. My nephew is looking at NJC and my sister is a little concern…

I am afraid of those spray type. Hard to control if a sudden gust of wind comes along.

These kids though sec 1 and 13 y.o can still be monkey on the loose at times. My elder boy got his finger scalded with a iron the other classmate was waving in the air.

This is so common. HCI & RI also.

I can't say any BGR yet among my boys' friends. I know of some - but they are in JC level.

May be they started in P5/6 ... Saw NHSS BG holding hands at busstop and another occasion at Jurong point.
