Tink the best source is still from the school. This map, shows how the way by road, tink they dun measured such way. I've tried using the other online map, is within 1km, however, when register for PV, they check our block is beyond 1km. So is best to check with the school.

Schools obtain information from SLA, too.

Your block must have been on the borderline. But my understanding is that if SLA's Onemap says you're within 1km, that's good enough for MOE and the school. Just be sure that it is Onemap you're using (SLA's official map service) and not other online maps like Google or Street Directory.

Ok, thanks. Someone has confirmed that school using SLA's onemap. So must be correct bah.

I really look for friends who will register for their children to P1 at phase 3 (international students) in 2011 and join Academic Year 2012 to seek for advices and suggestion. I’m really lost and vague in approaching the chools.

My situation is as follows:-

Stay within 1km from Nan Chiau Pri School.
Have a place in Phase 2a2 in PLMGS.

We prefer to have a school nearer to our house so that our daughter doesnt have to waste time in transportation. But with Nan Chiau being pretty popular, we are afraid that we will not have a good chance in Phase 2C.

Any advice, please? Thanks.

When does your DD register? Do you have time to be a PV at Nan Chiau or a community leader in your RC? If so, that would put you in P2B, which so far, does not have balloting within 1km.

If it's too late, then you might want to stick to PLMGS as the competition in P2C at Nan Chiau is high, and you'd be subjected to balloting even within 1km.

DS = dear son

You may want to consider moving closer to PLMGS for long term benefit
