Hi jtoh. Sorry, it is called \"multi-talented\" class and not \"mixed ability\" class. It is what RGPS calls the classes which are not the top E/F classes after streaming into P4 and P5.

My niece is going to P1 at RGPS next year. She is not the studious type and hardly reads etc. I am concerned that she may encounter difficulties adapting to the school and making the standard. Can anyone share about their experiences in terms of the level of proficiency for Maths/Chinese/English for the P1 kids/support that teachers provide for students that are not academically strong etc/ do the teachers call the parents to inform them about kids that are not doing well? Any information is most appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I see. Thanks. So it's for all the other classes. I thought it was a new grouping which schools like NYPS are trying out now where they pair high ability with average students in the same class.

That means all others get band 1? That is a very encouraging result as a whole.

Oh no, yesterday she came back to say that was for the normal MT paper. For the HMT, only 3 girls or so in her class get band 1, and she wasnt one of them so she was quite sad. Need 22/25 to get band 1, so tough ah..
