All about Transferring to Other Primary Schools

I am considering transferring my son to another school with affiliated sec...to reduce my stress and anxiety level, and not having to compete with other Dragon year boys for a place. After reading some posts here, I'm rather worried if I should do that...to start all over again in a new environment is rather painful.
He will be P5 next year? Generally kind of 'late' to transfer at P5 because most would transfer latest by P4. I noticed there are a few who transferred at P5 in my dd's school though. Do-able if you can find a school and your ds is agreeable -

Hi,
I just received an information sheet on Student Transfer Exercise for Primary School. They called it STEPS.
In short, those who want to apply for school transfer due to change of address would have to apply through existing school or MOE website, http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/steps
The process would be between 19 Nov to 17 Dec 2010. If anyone would like to be excluded from these, it should be done outside of this period of time.
But this is for those who relocate their home. -

Just wondering, what are the chances of transferring my son to these schools:
1) ACS Junior
2) ACS Primary
3) St Andrew’s Junior
4) St Joseph Junior -

Hi!
Has anyone did a transfer for your child at P2?
I'm seriously considering a transfer as I dont have quite a good impression of the school my son is currently in for various reasons.
A lot of the preferred school would have filled up during P1 registration, & these students will automatically be promoted to P2 as well.
I was previously from a SAP school, but didnt want to enrol my son there as we lived quite far from it.
However, I'm wondering if a chance will be given if I now request for him to be registered there?
Any stories, similar or related will be appreciated
