Hi blackvelvet,

i was going thru the staff list of classes n following ur S G P S L O R D formula - hey! It works! But funny, 2010 they had SGPSLO for p1 so by right it should LORDS for 2011 p1 as there r 5 p1 classes next yr. However, based on docs i received they named the classes SGPSL this time for 2011.

Oh well thats not impt but definitely an interesting observation.

          Hello eetsc,

Can't recall offhand what are the optional references, but I bought the following which the teacher did not use:
• Math Olympiad P1/P2
          Chinese pictorial dictionary
Character cards - the Chinese teacher only used the 1A set
        •
What other books are there?

            Hi eetsc

Apart from My First Picture Dictionary - chinese & Maths Olympiad (junior), I did not buy the others. I figured if the books were needed during the year, I could still get them from the bookshop.

You may want to check with his form teacher on orientation day when you meet her.

                    Hi genki2,

So far, it has been a positive experience. However, I will only be able to comment more once my son starts school there.

                      Hi genki2,

My son found the homework in P5 manageable. At the end of the final term, they would usually be given homework to do during the Nov/Dec holidays, to be handed in to their teacher in P6 the following year.

This also applies to my son this year in P1. He was given a few sets of worksheet to do, to be handed in next year.

Morning Star would monitor that the boys does their homework - this is especially so for the younger boys. For the boys who may have CCAs / supplementary classes - the parents would have to inform the Morning Star teachers whether they wanted their son to complete their homework there, or if it’s ok if the boys brought some incomplete homework home to do. This is because by the time CCAs / Classes end, Morning Star would be in the midst of some activities.
