- we are supposed to send in the car decal form by 8 nov but how to reach MCS when we only received the form today?
- the thoughts and aspirations form was last year's. MCS did not even change the date to this year?
- school on Fridays end early! That is a logistic horror to us!

I think the sch will be flexible with the cut-off date for the car decals. Afterall, everyone received the form yesterday so you won't be the only one who can't submit by the 8 Nov. Just send the form ASAP so the sch can process it before the 20th Nov for your collection during orientation. Alternatively, if you are really concern and can spare the time, you can drop in at sch's general office to submit the form on Monday (8 Nov).

What do you mean by sch ends early on Fridays? Is there a change of dismissal time on Friday? What time will the gals be dismissed? Currently, the gals are dismissed at 6.30pm (without assembly) or 6.40pm (with assembly). Why is it a logistic horror for you?

Yea, I saw the car decal form.. weird also but I guess they will still process it. Just send the form bk to them asap.

But another thing, they stated to pay orientation fees or something but didnt state the amount? Or are they referring to the $17++ for the subscription of hao peng you or something?

So do we need to bring extra $$$ for purchase of books, uniforms, pay sch bus??

Dismissal for PM (fridays only) would be 5.00pm-5.40pm?

Btw, do you have any idea what does Primary 1 Integrity means? Is it their class or something?

Besides the notification letter informing us that our child is accepted and orientation is on 20 nov, I have yet to receive any other letters from MCS.

Any idea what time are we suppose to be there?

We are supposed to be there by 8.00am to register and the orientation will start at 8.30am.

Hi P1 mummies,
I find it strange that the sch did not give P1 parents more information about the orientation in the letters sent out this year. Last year, we were informed of what to wear, what to bring, how much to pay etc.

Did the sch inform you all to remember to bring a pen, NRIC of both parents and bank account number for Giro application for sch fees?

Yes, don't forget to bring cash. If there are no changes from last year, students taking Chinese as Mother Tongue will need to pay $77.50. Other Mother Tongues will need to pay $63.50. The fees include gymnastics fee for the year ($60), a report book ($3.50) and the hao peng you ($14 for Chinese Language only).

I suggest you bring extra cash if you need to pay for sch bus and buy uniforms. The vendors will be there from 11Am to 12 Noon. FYI, the pinafore costs about $17.50 for size 24 (the smallest size) and increases $1 for every size up (eg. $18.50 for size 26 and $19.50 for size 28. You will also need to buy 2 sets of PE attire as the gals have PE 3x a week. PE t-shirts are about $6.50 - $8.50 depending on size. PE shorts are $6.00 - $6.50. Name tags are $4 per set of 4 pieces. Hope this gives you an indication on how much to bring for the uniform. Please note that all prices quoted here were prices last year. Prices may be inflated this year...

As for textbooks, the sch will give out a book list. There are designated dates for each level to buy textbooks, usually in late Nov/Dec. If I recalled correctly, I didn't buy textbooks for DD2 during Orientation Day last year. :lol:

oic....the current students have not been informed of the new dismissal hours for Friday. Currently, the gate closing hours are 5.30pm to 6.40pm on all evenings..

When the sch refers to the gate closing hours, it is refering to the barrier at the guard house, not the main sch gate. Parents who drop or fetch their gals from sch can usually drive up to the foyer but once it's the gate closing hours, no cars will be allowed past the barrier, even with the car decal. The reason is because during this period, sch buses are driving into the sch compound and students in the AM sessions are going home after CCA and supplementary lessons. It's more a safety issue.

Yes, P1 Integrity is the class's name. It's a new initiative by the new principal. Currently, all classes are still known as 1A, 1B etc. From next year onwards, all classes will have new names to reflect the sch values. :lol: I hope they don't expect the pupils to write 1 Integrity, 1 Humility etc on their worksheets everyday. What long and bombastic words for small kids.... :shock: Imagine writing 1 Responsibility?? Maybe the gals can write 1I, IH or 1R instead.
