All About Full-Time Maids

Hi…
She is a filippino. We suspect either one of the other house helper took the employer bag and told her to keep it… or when she went to the other maid house to "eat", she took the bag with her. Basically, she stole it. It was not brand new… and she even washed it.
Thanks for your concern, my mom is feeling better already. -

Glad to know your mum is recovering...the impt thing is she is out of your house, but I pity new employers who hire her...she can come back to SG with a new name and passport, but leopard never changes its spots.Hi..

12. One helper has offered to give my new helper a mobile phone as she has 2 of them as my new helper has no mobile phone now. I am not sure what it is her motive. I think she also know my previous helper.
Hi cher_06,
Seems like your neighbourhood has a lot of Phil maids. If you can help it, get from Indo. for a change. Also then they won't so easily be in cahoots together.
All the best!

Hi Cher_06
Actually you can write to MOM to blacklist your previous maid… I did it for my last Indon maid who stole from us, allowed another maid into our home, went to another maid’s employer’s home, etc and was unrepentant when confronted. She actually called us from Taiwan a few months later requesting to speak to my son…so I’m sure that she also stole from her Taiwanese employers!
I don’t know whether changing name and passport will bypass the MOM blacklist, especially since MOM have the maids’ fingerprints now. Hopefully the MOM system can detect; otherwise the new employers will suffer at the hands of these maids. -
i have just heard that the philippines govt has slapped a kind of insurance tax on all maids going to hong kong to work. i think it is a couple of hundreds in us$. and it was effective immediately. ultimately the employers have to bear the cost though the maids already have insurance policy. this decision was made very sudden and caught all off guard.
wonder if anyone heard of it and is singapore affected? -

Thanks Joeyz18, I'm still waiting for the new maid to clear her hurdles. Understand that she got her passport. Now wondering - chaos in myanmar, whether she can come; merapi in Indo, whether my current maid can go home safely. Aiyoh - really 天灾人祸hquek,
