      Hi All,

Anyone let thier kid take the following course from Yuquan Lang Sch?

      中华字经》快速识字课程
      成语识字 Cool

      Hi Titank,

My girl attended the 成语识字 Cool during school holiday since last year and this year's June holiday. Yuquan Lang Sch actually work with her sch to have the holiday training within the sch.

i think it all depends on individual because she don't really make use of it at this moment - she P2 this year. She recognised the word but not the meaning that well.

Oh really Yuquan work with your girl school? The Yuquan is trying to sell me the 2 program but I agreed that if they know the word without the meaning might as well we own self teach? I mean teach the 成语识字?

I think use of electronic stuff to 'read' to the child depends on the child. I bought the pricey leappad thingys for my kids but DS1 hated it and seldom touched it. He would at most only flip the leappad books he liked but never was onto the leappad reader for long. DS1 and 2 much prefer humans to read out the books.

But I guess there must be others who have benefited using these devices. 😉

          Hi,

would like to suggest a Chinese play that is worth watching in Singapore and highly recommended for kids to get to be interested in Chinese. It is the story of 孙悟空 and 白骨精, a very familiar story for most of us. They had performed this in the Huayi festival 2009 and received positive feedback and they are back this year. There are not many children Chinese plays around. So, would really encourage parents out there to bring your kids down.

i m also seekg feedback for Han.

re yuquan idiom class, i read from the thread \"all abt chinese enrichment\" towards the back pgs that they just ask the child copy the idioms, nvr explain the meaning.
My friend went to both Han and TH. I think she said TH is more academic and can really drive you kid to do well. She likes Han too but TH can see more results. But her kid was also more stressed.

I mean teach the 成语识字?[/quote]it come with cds as well but frankly speaking - i did not really go through it so not sure what is in the cd - it would be good if they have explanation and example so that you could self teach - let me go home and flip through...
Not sure about this coming holiday as i have yet to received any enrolment form - she's with Unity Primary School. ohh, working with school but we need to pay for the course - not free - maybe at a cheaper rate and held in the sch.
Yes, i agreed - self teach, but i don't have the time and it's very tiring and STRESS to teach her after work! I have recently registered her with Berries at Bukit Batok and she has learnt from her first lesson \"津津有味\" the meaning and how to use it in a short writing which i thought was quite good - like what the teacher told me - they have to keep using it so that they are familiar with all these chinese 词汇 etc.

He is still with YQ Tampines Branch @Blk 201E till end of this yr. Thereafer I plan to start him with Berris Tampines Central. Will decide after Berris's trial lesson.
How much did u paid for P1 course? What course did your son take for P1?

There r many courses in the web but not specified for those conducted in RC. I sent my son for trial K1-K2 at RC but he doesn't like the lesson. He will b in P1 next yr

To teach topics that I am not capable of teaching 😉

For my K2, I sent her to a nearby RC for 3 months just to learn hanyu pinyin. My hanyu pinyin sucks.
Plan to place her in another nearby CC for creative writing next year. I find creative writing very hard to coach
Which lang center for course in RC and CC?
I sent my son to Yu Quan at RC for trial. Course fee v cheap, timing gd and location convenient but he doesn't wanna go for the lesson after trial :x

I paid ~$345 for a term(12 lessons). Think he is taking 强化综合练习课程.
As he is the only P1 in that time slot(he joins 2 other P2 students during lesson), his teacher will customise(give him more spelling, composition...etc) his lesson based on his learning progress.
