        My son prefer mixed school.

Any mixed school with good 'O' level result so far?

IP school is out for him.

        Please help :?:

          Just to share with everybody:-

Heard tt IP school eg RGS has no retention and if your result is v bad, they will ask you to trf out.

          NYG has retention but no ‘O’ level class;

DHS has retention and ‘O’ level class.

DHS is mixed school, they always get good result. RV also mixed school, also good result. But they are all IP.

NCH, non IP is mixed and in Band 1. AH is mixed and SAP school.

It is usually true that single gender schools have better result, maybe less distractions.

Most single gender schools are usually top schools, ie RI, HCI, RGS, NYGH, VS, SJI, Cedar, CHS, SCGS, MGS, ACSI. so there isn't any surprises that they have better results.

It will be easier if you can tell us where you stay. Unless you don't mind your son need to travel far to his sec school.

Hi kiasi_student, you never know you will do exceedingly well for PSLE. Have faith in yourself. 😄 Personally, I feel most important is to enjoy the learning journey be it in Express or Normal stream. I came across people who are Normal stream students who have done well in life. 😄

I thought you may like to read this thread - http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7609

                    Take care. Cheers!

IMHO, I find it nothing wrong to go to Normal Acad. You should choose the stream that suit you so that you can enjoy your secondary school life.

If I am not wrong, schools allow students to promote from Sec 1 NA to Sec 2 Exp if they score 70% in their Sec 1 final year exam. I believe this is MOE ruling.

Pls advise what is IP school. Thanks.

IP stands for Intergrated Programme, a seamless 6 yr programme leading to the International Baccalaureate Diploma or \"A' level, or NUS High School Diploma (for NUSH) where secondary school students can proceed to JC without taking the ‘O’ level exams.

I don't know how my son will score for his PSLE. Of course I would like him to attend IP school. Thanks for explaination.[/quote]my cousin son got 260 for his PSLE, plus Higher chinese Dis. total 263, can enter RI? pls provide some info. tks
