Does anyone know if other communities such as CSC, WEC, SCEC, YEC, IAEC or MAEC also eligible for phase 2b registration? Got 2 version of saying from PA after enquiring with them..... :shock:
No, being an Executive Member (EM) of these committees does not make you eligible for P1 registration in Phase 2B. Only EMs of RCs, NCs, CDCs, CCMCs and CCCs are eligible. -

I suggest u find out more about the respective functions of these committees in order to ask the right Q to get the right answers.
e.g.
SCEC - Senior Citizen
YEC - Youth
How to have kids going to pri sch in those 2 categories? -

No, you cannot join any RC you like, but MUST join the one that is pegged to your home address. The one physically nearest to your house may not be your RC, so it might be a good idea to check, by going to your CDC web site and using the postal code locator at the bottom right of the home page.
It's also probably not true that your RC is lazy. RC members do a lot of work for the community which may not be seen by regular constituents like yourself, eg. helping the elderly, sick and needy in the community. They also do a lot of things that people don't notice and sometimes take for granted, such as decorating blocks for National Day or other festivities. In any case, once you join them, you can try to make the difference and change your RC from a lazy one to an active one!

Is there any expiry date for the letter from RC?
Yes, I know RC do alot of works. But when you see the notice board have not been changed/updated for more than 5 years, what would you think? -

Thanks for the info. Sub committees are not eligible. I am interested in CSC and understand from PA that CSC is supporting in organising activities for the constituency or by PA. Just in doubt that why EM in CSC is contributing to the community and not gaining the same \"treatment\" as them? -

And the GRC I'm looking at - Tanjong Pagar GRC - is pretty large, and could well be carved up.
