Hi dark chocolate,
Ya, my girl will be in P1 next year & believe that will be enough since school mention $4. -

Student can wear PE attires on day where there is PE, don't have to change to school uniform. On Wednesday it's CCA day, so all students wear PE attires. Depends on which class your kid will be in, your kid could have PE/MoCCA on 2 or 3 days a week. To have an idea, this year P1 timetable as attached. If PE on Mon and Thur and MoCCA on Wed, your kid will wear PE attires on mon/wed/thur.By the way, can anyone advise how many sets of PE attires and uniforms should we buy? On days when there is PE, can the kids wear the PE attire for the entire day? I would guess PE is around twice a week so left 3 days for proper school uniforms?
I saw a $4 we need to pay for a 1 week recess scheme. Anyone knows what is this?

School will cater food for P1 student during first week recess. I remembered it's $1 per day. My guess is first day parent will bring kid to school and so food not catered on first day. Cater food starts from second day onwards for a week. I could be wrong.
All classes will have their assigned table/bench @school canteen. They will sit with their classmates during recess. -

Hi cpdalinhi,
my kid is going to student care at blk 842B.....
Do you know there is a student care at blk 703 near PC, called Sherwin?
842B is quite a walking distance from PC right? The student care will fetch your child to and fro?[/quote]
Hi dark chocolate,

Hi cpdalin
I am considering Sherwin, have gone down to see the student care twice and thought it looks ok, though far from a colorful and bubbly childcare.
Does the studentcare at 842B provides tuition when the child is there? Breakfast and lunch provided before they walk the children to school? If it rains, the children will also walk to school? -

Tuition provided at additional cost, but even without tuition, they also do exercises in the center, I think its more or less the same as Sherwin. Only difference is Sherwin walks them to sch, tis center walks them to the sch bus. Thus for my kid, i will send her to SC and have the sch bus go pick her up frm the center. After sch, she will take sch bus back to my in law' hse.:)
oh, not forgetting, breakfast, lunch all provided. Toilets and baths are clean too. They have girls and boys toilets, thus it is very organised. -
Thanks cpdalin!
Think I will prefer to send DS to Sherwin then, else I will need to incur another school bus cost. I am intending to send him there in the AM before I go to work, understand there will be breakfast, then tuition and own reading time before they shower, have lunch and be walked to PCS. After school, they will fetch him back to student care and I fetch him by 7pm or slightly later is fine too coz Sherwin provides night tuition classes too so they don't close so early.
I have seen Sherwin bring the children out for bowling activities during the school hols, the children seem very bonded with the teachers. Also brought DS there before, he could immediately mix with the children and looked like he enjoyed himself. Only thing is, I think the meals they provide are not really that fantastic, but there again, childcare is similar in this aspect too.
Well, can't have a perfect place unless I become a SAHM!

- Her Chinese enrichment center is Kumon. She actually has no problem conversing, only reading and writing used to have some challenge comparing to her English standard as I didn't have time teaching her myself and her child care center's Chinese teacher went \"missing\" for the whole half a year when she was in K1. :stupid:Hi cpdalin
I have received the booklist too, seems alot cheaper than I expected?
DS will be in Yellow House Group 1.
Nice to see more parents of next year P1 joining this forum!!
Hi gajidouma
Which chinese enrichment class is your child attending at currently?
Hi alphonsus and other parents whose kids are already in PCS P1 or P2
I heard homework is alot and since our kids are in PM session, does your kids have difficulties completing their homework before going to bed at night? DS is having some enrichment classes in the evening currently, am wondering if I should reschedule them to weekends only next year so that he has time to do his homework on weekdays evenings.
Anyone's kids are currently in student care or going to student care next year? Which student care is your child at / going to?
Letter received a few days ago too. Color group is RED. told dd, she asked whether she could join a PINK group instead.
I am now actually torn between hiring a maid and sending her to student care.... didn't really like SW either after the site visit; timing also not right... need to pay to arrange someone to pick her up in the end as when I am home from work, most of time well over 7pm liao....another one at blk8xx too far away... headache.... :?
Wondering what enrichment programs are made available to P1 students? I hope to keep her in the school as long as possible, so as not to spend too much time with maid at home if I decide to hire one in future... just read about those horrible experience with maid.... sigh... -
cpdalin:
True. Actually that's the most important thing.

i have a maid all along, but i am sending her back since my kid is going to SC. i prefer SC then maid care is becos better routine, tho SC may not be as good as the CC she is attending, its time for our kids to learn to be very independent:) with SC, i hope most of her homework be coached so tat when we are back frm work, we can do the minimal, else we will be super stressed.... unless we are sahm, which is impossible:(
