Sure. Today, I started my 1st dinner with Kim's. Ya, you are right. It's oily. I am going to stop after 5 days trial. Luckily I only order for 5 days.
The soup is MSG + water. The chicken inside the soup is very hard. Veg is xiao bai cai and the starting point of the stalk still have soil. I can't stand veg that is not washed.
Empire may be plain but I don't have to keep drinking water after eating their food.
Now I need to source for my dinner tingkat....
when i did their trial, it was ok. but today's one selection is BAD! the fish so fishy, chicken smell like duck & covered with a layer of oil, most of the times, their vege is bitter. i didnt take soup so their 4th dish is always fried convenient food. today is fried fish cake. but the menu always have fantastic nice names :x

Ya boy, the so call assam fish. Sounds great but so hard and so what they give me 5 pieces (4 pax). Each piece is so small with the stomach. There are so many bones and definitely children cant help themselves. I am so tired getting rid of the bones for my 3 DSs. The chicken wing is hard too. My poor DSs - chewed the drum stick, give up...chewed the chicken from the soup, give up.... chewed the fish ... give up. They stare at the oily dishes on the table and looked at me and stared at their own rice again....

.......Anyone has any negative thing to say abt Neo?

I've tried Neo but quite some time ago. What we like is their combo meal dinner every Wednesday. At least it gives us a break from eating plain rice and dishes. As usual, it's oily but we like the variety. There nasi beryani, hongkong mee, fried rice, chicken rice, fried bee hoon, etc etc and the side dishes are usually dishes like fried chicken wing or drumstick, curry fish or chicken etc. Their combo meal also comes with dessert like cheng tng, tau suan, ah bor ling, red bean soup, etc. Nothing fantastic, in fact the tau suan is very starchy.

Anybody tried Select’s Deluxe Menu? Menu looks good! I’m tired of Kim’s Kitchen, so want a change.

Hi Lilac66. I've tried Select's deluxe menu. Not much difference from the economical one except maybe one or two items may contain slightly more expensive dishes, eg they may give fried pomfret instead of ikan selar, more expensive veg like broccoli instead of chye sim, etc.

I didn't feel that it was that worth it to pay so much more. They are in fact more expensive than others.

I've been eating tingkat dinner for so long that I think my tastebuds are really jaded. Anybody else got any good recommendations......??

                  Just to share,

I’ll been ordering mom’s kitchen’s dinner for about two months and got tired of it soon.

Yes their price rather high at $250 for 1 Pax. I shared it with my 3 year old son. My son enjoyed the dishes each time. For myself i really enjoyed esp. the spicy food, chicken curry, fish curry etc. But only thing is their soup no matter what kind of soup they provide, always got the same smell i do not know how to discribe it. Once I called them belive is the director. Asked him how he prepare the soup he said prepare morning for lunch delivery and pm, cook for dinnery delivery. I don’t believe la, not profitable to do such right? and I ask what kind of meat they use? Is frozen meat. No wonder the the bak kuet or meat is always so black in colour. With this kind of price actually I hope to get not frozen meat.

For those out there with Empire, do they have a trial? If so, how much and for how long? Any idea where is their kitchen? Their kitchen is in Woodlands and I wonder it’s a good idea to choose them as I stay in Sengkang and prefer delivery around 11am-12pm for lunch.

I have been with Empire since 1 Nov. Somehow, didn't ask them for trial bec I can hardly find anyone doing lunch. Suggest u call them.
I have trial dinner and stopped after the trial with Kim's kitchen, Hilltop, Happyview. Now, cooking our own dinner.
Somehow, only Empire suit my taste bud. It is not fantastic but ok to me. The rest are either too oily or soup too 'tasty' or fish with smelly stomach.
I stay at Tampines and my lunch usually arrive at 9.30pm. Hope this helps.
