I paid ~$345 for a term(12 lessons). Think he is taking 强化综合练习课程.
As he is the only P1 in that time slot(he joins 2 other P2 students during lesson), his teacher will customise(give him more spelling, composition...etc) his lesson based on his learning progress.

My boy is also having the 华文强化课程
at the Middle Road branch which is all on P1.

Bet the trial that my son took at RC is different fm what your son takes. The fee is $65 4 lessons for P1. Perhaps the one at RC not interesting. Class only 2 kids. No wonder my son doesn't like

Do both your boy like to attend the lesson?[/quote]So far seem ok with Yuquan Lang Centre. I’m paying about $320/term (Excludes GST) which have 12 lessons & each duration about 2 hours. Most of the RC at Yuquan they have 2 group together, Eg P1 & P2. That is why the fee is so much difference where you are paying $65/mth.

My boy lurves his current teacher @YQ, so I am having a hard time convincing him to switch to Berris. Switching to Berris is more for me as it is more convenient to me and I really like their teaching material and course coverage.
His P1 higher chinese result is good(to me  ). I am unsure whether this is result of YQ or his school chinese teacher.

          i3mum,

I also had enquired on Jiang Education where P1 onwards the class size would be at 20.
Personally I think the class is too big & I prefer to have small group at least the teacher can have extra attention span.
Thanks titank, I suppose 20 students in a class is too big. Actually Jiang is a bit far for me too. May I know which Yuquan is your child in?

I had went through a few language centre such as Yuquan, Xueni, Eduplus, Berries, Tien Hsia, Han Lang, Molin & Jiang Education.

Seem like all about the same but maybe in terms of standard Jiang & Molin could be higher. Ultimately it still depend on how good the teacher is teaching your child.

my son barely passed his P1 chinese exams this year. just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for chinese enrichment (berries, tsien hsia, etc) that creates a child’s interest in chinese?

i am exploring the classes to enrol him during the holidays.
looking for small class, and something that is fun, not classroom/textbook style.
main concern is to create interest, not to revise the school work again…

                recommendations anyone?

i think tuition centres all abt the same. but that aside, i feel the most impt way to inculcate interest is to create a chinese environment - watch ch shows, listen to ch radio, read ch bks. its more effectv than tuition.

I am looking more for "holiday classes" type, that will be fun, like Chinese speech & drama? Not really tuition classes.

He already attends BASC so I think that’s enough studies for him.
I always think it is easier to learn through play, rather than from memorising the textbook.

I am trying to get him to read more chinese story books (he reads english story books effortlessly) by finding those with contents that will interest him, but it’s quite a struggle. He simply has no interest.

btw, just wondering… am i posting the question in the right thread? 😜

so far i wat i read is berries supp to be fun type. i hvnt tried it. also nvr tried speech n drama cos we read ch bks from young.

if u hv starhub, subscribe to playhse disney, change the language mode into chinese so the child can watch mickey, winnie the pooh etc all in chinese language. when u select info button, can change the lang into chinese. n let him watch ch kids show every sun 10am ch 8. or doramon in chinese.
