Perceptum - Discussion

prisnkc:
I registered for my son in Sept, I think? But that's for existing students.Went to their website to check the timetable. Almost all classes at BT are full.
Just wondering when did the registration for year 2011 starts? Must be early if want to get a place when DS goes to P3 in year 2012.
Must warn that not all kids will do well or improve. Some end up improving tremendously, but others go downhill like my son. In the whole year he's been there, there has been no improvement. His grades just got worse and worse and this sA2 he barely passed. But I think it's more my son than the tutor, and I don't know who else to put him with already. -
24hr-mum:
Hi 24hrmum,its $45 per 2hr lesson.
for p3 its an hr math + an hr sci
from p4, math n sci separate
Does this centre do science experiments or just theory? How big is the class size? Is their maths really this good? My ds did not do well in this current SA2's maths. -

2centsworthy,38pllus or any parents with children in Perceptum
I would appreciate more feedback about classes at BTSC, specificially the SCIENCE programmes.
- Why do you think Perceptum lessons made a difference ?
- Do they do experiments during the lessons ? Or discussions ? Or Worksheets ?
- The 3 lead teachers will conduct the lessons or are there other part-time/full-time tutors ? So far, do you experience any teacher turnover ?
Thanks very much. -

- Are they patient with hyper children? -
phankao:
Phankao, thanks for sharing.I think it really depends on the child too. My ds1 was doing science & math, both under Mrs Sim. He got A* for both for PSLE.
My p5 boy, started this year with mrs sim for science. From 71 in science last year p4 to just barely pass this year. *sigh*.
For such a case, did the center or Mrs Sim feedback what went wrong and what else could be done ? So you going to pull your boy out ? but PSLE next year right ? -
pixiedust:
Actually Mrs Sim didn't even reply me after asking me to scan and email the exam paper over. *fume*. Even after I said I was extremely worried.

*sigh*. But I don't know where else to send him. He has been *sacked* by several tutors already. -

wah, like that ?! 2011 PSLE and their own student !
I would expect they should give some help/advice to you so that you and child can maximise this Nov/Dec to do everything you can.
I understand their class fees is not cheap ?
Given their high profile, I expected more regular feedback and help even with the weaker students. Is that the case ? Or they are too fully stretched ?
