GEP 2010 - Screening & Selection

Nice great summary...

Applicable to my DS1... He loves maths and science, but suck in MT... The other observation i wanna add is in general, they like to read books... As thats where they get all their general knowledge from... My DS1 read abt boring topics like earthquake, tsunami, grizzle bear against polar bear etc. And only in P2, did he switched over to story books... And now stuck in all kind of story books... To him, reading is relaxation!

Agree with you that these kids love to read. They have voracious appetite for books which are of interest to them, regardless of how thick the book can be. My kid can 'chew off' a book of about 3 cm thick in 2 weeks, even when school work is heavy!! :!:

But I am happy that my kid has a great love for books...

I thought so too, until I know of a kid who really loves to read and also good in Math but didn't get into GEP. I think the different is the General Ability which I don't know can be trained or not. Maybe someone can let your kid reads such books, crazy about books and good in Math and sit for the selected test. If get in, then we surely has the GEP formula :celebrate:

So some of these \"tests\" not very difficult to train, right? But you must have come across the type of questions before.A friend who used to mark GEP screening papers trained his son. He got in GEP. So, what's so unusual about that? Can train, right?

Actually have ... but I have no p3 kid. haha. Maybe 7 years later lah. I don't know about the other students he taught though. They don't guarantee anyway.
