I brought my kids (then 6 and 3.5) to HK earlier this year. Stayed at Cityview hotel - not expensive (should be close to your budget) and very near mrt, plus there's a pretty good porridge place opp the hotel, and a Jenny's bakery very nearby. http://www.thecityview.com.hk/eng/index.phpHihi..
I am intending to bring my 2 kids with me next year either Mar or Sep. But I am confused on the Hotel booking. My DD is 3yo and DS 1yo.
:?
May I know is 2 double beds enough for us?
Do I need to include my DS during the booking? Coz whenever I stated 2 adults and 2 children, not many hotels are available for me to choose.
Actually I want to book Metropark hotel Mongkok which is within my budget. So is there any recommendation on the hotel around $130 budget/night?
My family is ok with sharing a king sized bed and this was what we booked. Room is fairly basic and bed a bit hard. But the location was excellent.
Strongly suggest that you only state 2 adults and 1 child, more options will open up. In any case, most places don't charge for kids until they are after 12 y/o. -

are you shopping for mass market clothings or up-market fashions?Hi,
Going to HK mid Dec. Read through the thread, don't seem to have muc comments on shopping places. Looking for nice ladies and men's wear with good value for money.
Any recommendation?
Since going in Dec, will there be only winter wear n no summer wear suitable for Singapore climate?
Please share your experience.
Thanx Thanx!! -

Thanx Tankee,
Briefly look thu the links. Looks good.
Will definitely explore these places. Have u been to Ladies Market?
Read on the thread its selling things like T- shirts and souvniers. Thinking to give it a miss. -
The last time I went to Ladies Market was before 1997.
just like our pasar malam, quite interesting experience but did not buy anything.
if you got time to kill, go to Elements Mall & HarbourCity. These 2 malls are in the city. Elements has an ice-skating ring within the mall. HarbourCity has a ToysRUs. Both are quite large in size too. -

All ur feedback give me some ideas on what to focus.
We will be there for 5 Days 4 Nights. 5 adults 1 kid. Will spend a day in Disneyland and another at Ocean Park. 1 of the day we plan to visit an island, I think is Lautau Island. For the SEAFOOD!!!
Guess got limited time for shopping. And since its our first family trip with my mom and gal, wan to make sure I have proper planning so that all of us will enjoy the get to gather!!!
Any other food or places you will recommend? I am a bit worry about the weather too. My 4yp gal has sensitive nose. Am worry if the weather in mid Dec will be ok for her.
