2011 P1 Registration Exercise for 2012 In-Take
-
Hi, we will be residing in Bedok Reservoir Road before 2012…I had already started doing PV in St Hilda which is within 2KM from our new address…Although Red Swastika is within 1KM, we know the chances of getting into the school under 2C is very slim so we had dropped our this school in our list for P1 registraion next year.
My back up plan would be St Anthony’s Cannossian which is also within 2KM and based on past statistics, it will not require any balloting under 2C.
My K1 girl knows I am doing PV in St Hilda and she had visited the school during my PV for some school event…I did explain to her the reason for PV but no guarantee we can get into the school…She also knows about my back-up plan for SACP…After she found out that SACP is an all girls school, she is very excited and keeps telling me she prefers to go into a girls school than a mixed school…Reason she prefers more girls than boys…
Should we just go for SACP based on her preference…Actually there is no gurantee for 2B within 1-2KM in St Hilda…Balloting was conducted for this year’s registration and next year should be the same. I plan to try under 2B for St Hilda and if we did not get a place, then we will got to SACP under 2C…
Any advise?? -

Ur plan seem reasonable enough, u can register in St Hilda during 2B first, then decide whether u want to register in SACP or not during 2C. If there is no balloting required for 2C in SACP, then u can withdraw from St Hilda since ur dd prefers a girls school?

Do u have a younger ds btw? If not, i think a girls school would be good choice esp since ur dd prefers it. Maybe u should bring ur girl to SACP to look around the environment first? -
girls usu prefer girl sch bcos they find boys rowdy (tho my #3 is opp. she likes boys cos they are fun to play wf. as she is the active type). but many parents may hv the same plan n delay registration until last min also

Hi luanee, thanks for yr advise..yes I think I will follow the plan....she is our only child..actually she mixes well with the boys in her class...in fact her kindy class has many boys....but u know lah...girls are girls...they enjoy their girls talk...I even teased her that she can still avoid the boys in a co-ed school but she said the boys always like to find her.....she said if she can choose, she will choose to play with girls....Ur plan seem reasonable enough, u can register in St Hilda during 2B first, then decide whether u want to register in SACP or not during 2C. I hv no idea abt SACP...never visited the school before..do u know whether the school standard n environment is good? -
Hello All,
My son is due to enroll in P1 in 2011, which means he will start P1 in 2012.
Being abit Kiasu here
But I have afew concerns. . .
As my hubby was from De La Salle Primary (CCK), I read that my son would fall under P2A2, which meant he probably stand a high chance.
Problem is that, we are staying in Jurong West, I just wondered,
1) If the school bus cld pick him fm JW and
2) Will he be the First to get up the bus & Last to alight?
3) Actually, alighting point wld be my parents place in Bt batok thou. . .
Can anyone share if special arrangements can be made so that my son doesnt hv to go tru hours of journey before he reach school/home?
And rougly what would the cost be like?
Many Thanks!
