I just received the letter regarding the uniform, books and transport... Luckily all not done together on the day of orientation *phew*

Noticed a few changes this year. The uniform vendor and sch bus vendors are not going to the sch during orientation day this year??
Last year, the uniform vendor was there even though the P1s wore uniforms to sch for orientation. :scratchhead: Maybe for last minute purchases. Sch bus vendors were also there to facilitate arrangement and payment.
I would have thought that it would be more convenient for parents to buy uniforms and arrange for sch buses during orientation. No need to make another trip to the uniform shop at Lor 1, especially if the kids need to try the uniforms on. However, with all payments to be made in 1 day, :moneyflies:
Don't the P1 need to pay $60 cash for gymnastics fees? If the sch waive the gym fees, then you guys are so lucky.

Is it possible to get the textbooks from Popular Bookstores?
You can buy textbooks from Popular but do ensure it's the right edition as stated in the booklist. For Popular members, there'll be a 5% discount on textbooks.
However, all exercise books with sch crest and the Helpmate (sch diary) are compulsory and must be bought at the sch bookshop. Helpmates are usually not published till late Dec. For the past few years, it had only been available when sch reopens. -

hey ladies...heard from a friend that MC is really inaccessible....coz bus stop is kinda far from the sch (bus 54) is it true? i haven't been to MC....but i know bus 54 stops there rite..... in case mother needs to go to sch sometimes...
Bus 54 does ply Marymount Rd. Bus stop is less than 5 mins walk from the sch. Although the bus stop opposite the sch (heading towards Bishan Interchange) requires more effort to climb the over-head bridge.
Many upper pri sch gals take this bus service to Junction 8 and Marymount MRT station. Quite accessible.

I think there are some changes from previous years. For the exercise books with MCS logo, can it be purchase at pacific bookstore or only at MCS book store. Coz I'm thinking of purchasing all the books from Pacific, there's home delivery.autumn82:

The above order was told to my DDs by their form teachers beginning of the term. However, there has been some changes made by P. The P announced to the sch 2 days ago that the classes will not necessarily be in this order. She has even made changes to the top classes. Currently the B class is known as 'Integrity' and the D class is known as 'Gratitude'. From next year onwards, the top classes are 'Humility' and 'Compassion' from P2-P6. 'Gratitude' is the sports class for P3-P6.
There are only 6 classes from P3-P6 as there are 40 students per class whereas there are only 30 students per class in 8 classes in P1-P2. Still the same number of students...240 students per cohort.
Hope your DD's report book brought a smile to your face yesterday. -

The papers didnt mentioned abt the $60 cash for gymnastics fees though...[/quote]Hi autumn82,
If you're ordering online, you can buy the MCS excercise books from Pacific. They'll know which sch's exercise books to supply you from your order form.
Just FYI, for home delivery, there's a delivery fee of $7.80 for up to 2 orders per delivery address or $15.60 for up to 4 orders per delivery address. Don't mean to be a kaypoh but I notice a few of you live in Sembawang. Maybe you all would like to split the delivery fee........cheaper...
For home delivery, if there are any books that are not available or out of stock (for example, the Helpmate), they will give you a form to collect the books from the sch bookshop when sch re-opens.
