better dont learn too many additional languages. Look at most of the phd and first class hons students. Most of them just specialise in a particular subject and do well in them.

If you learn too many irrelevant things, their brain might find it hard to absorb the theories learnt in uni. GG.

Be a jack of all trades, master of none or a grandmaster, you decide.

How many marks = distinction for HCL ?

DD scored more than 80% (avr of 5 subj). breakdown: 1-90s, 3-80s, 1-70s. No prizes for guessing which subj is 70s, ha!

she doesn’t know her position in class but as usual assume most of her classmates must have higher marks than she does. I also think her marks shd be average ?

          Thanks for sharing. 😄

According to DS, in his P4 class only about 3 pupils scored an overall of 80% and above. Is this the norm? 😐

I dont' think so. At P4, quite a few will score >80%. At least half, I would estimate.

I estimate is abt 1/3 of the class or lesser..
dd assumes majority scored more than 80%. she thks she is one of the 'lousier' ones.

                Hi Neko,

The report bk will indicate a DI next to the chinese subject for distinction. May be the DI is given based on her cohort’s result.

And the top scorer 90+ will get to receive something on stage on prize giving day.

                Tx

Thus it would be comparing apples to oranges. Only in P6 SA1 the school will let them take 2 papers so that the DSA process is fair. In my son's school about half had to take GAT, i.e. score less than 80%. However I think in P4 and P5, the proportion scoring above 80% should be much lower simply because higher chinese score tend to be lower. Hope this info helps.
Noted from the booklist that next year P5 GEP has to learn cpnversational malay... but DD does not like it leh...

No choice. If you don't learn CCM now you'll still have to learn it in secondary school.

Is this for SAP school too?

My dd actually asked to learn Malay. If school offers, then I can save on the fees
It's an MOE directive that all students learn Conversational Malay (if their MT is not Malay), and Conversational Chinese (if their MT is not Chinese). This can be completed in primary school (if the school offers it), if not in secondary school.

I mentioned earlier that I found some GA books in popular, well, I went to IMM Popular to look for it. The books are no longer on the shelf. I think it could be sold out. The section is under ‘Puzzle/Game’. I don’t know whether the popular saleman has moved it elsewhere but highly not possible.

hi! anyone know where to get the book \" A wrinkle in Time\"? Tx

I saw a few copies at Popular Marine Parade some weeks ago. You might want to call them up before heading down, just to make sure books are still there

Saw the Penqiun copy at Popular too.
