Is that a brand new? If brand new, wow, you've bought at a fantastic price! Can still sell at same price when you wish to upgrade ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes, bought brand new then. don't think i'll change for some time --> both kids still keen on piano. Thanks for the offer :D[/quote]No la, I meant next time if you want to sell, can sell around your purchase price since a 2nd hand kawai is still going at $5.8K as mentioned earlier by another parent

I bought a yamaha last year during their annual festive sale ๐Ÿ˜„

K3 and U1 are of similar height.

          Off hand I can't confirm K5's height, I think it's 125cm?

Thx sleepy for your advise. After some light research, i sort of prefer Kawai. Not sure whether itโ€™s cheaper tha Yamaha. Thatโ€™s why i am trying to compare apple to apple. Now i know, for comparison, we use the height as the gauge. Will check out tmr the price of K3.

              Hi Swallow,
I bought a kawai k3 (in 2007), 121 cm. Paid slightly above $6000 for it. Price could have shot up over the years due to the rise in yen.

I usually use height as a generic reference point but it doesn't apply all the time for all models. For example, I think K8 should be compared against YUS5 instead of U3. Although these 3 models are around same height.
You can also ask the sales at Kaiwai what's yamaha equivalent. Happy hunting ๐Ÿ˜„

I called Roberts today, they claim their K3 is Yamaha YUS1, superior to U1 (but not available in singapore). Anyway, the best price i heard so far for U1 is $8600 (6 yr warranty + 2 tunings), K3 $8150 (6 yr warranty+ 4 tunings).

Just wodering, is it tre the resale value of Yamaha U1 is better than K3? Just incase, both my DDs hate piano.

Hi, just saw a kawai K25 at a piano shop in Pomo, been told it is 8year old. How can i confirm its age? It is safe to buy a piano without warranty?
