All about Transferring to Other Primary Schools

I am considering transferring my son to another school with affiliated sec...to reduce my stress and anxiety level, and not having to compete with other Dragon year boys for a place. After reading some posts here, I'm rather worried if I should do that...to start all over again in a new environment is rather painful.

He will be P5 next year? Generally kind of 'late' to transfer at P5 because most would transfer latest by P4. I noticed there are a few who transferred at P5 in my dd's school though. Do-able if you can find a school and your ds is agreeable

I tried this year when son is in P4, but chances are slim. Will try again next year.

Has anyone did a transfer for your child at P2?

I'm seriously considering a transfer as I dont have quite a good impression of the school my son is currently in for various reasons.

A lot of the preferred school would have filled up during P1 registration, & these students will automatically be promoted to P2 as well.

I was previously from a SAP school, but didnt want to enrol my son there as we lived quite far from it.

However, I'm wondering if a chance will be given if I now request for him to be registered there?

Any stories, similar or related will be appreciated

You are staying next to the school & yr dd got balloted out? Try this:
Drop an email to the principal, request for a meet-up with her/ him. In your email, express your anxiety and if need be, be prepared to offer your volunteering service to the school. Next, 'hard-sell' your daughter. If she's attending any enrichment program, state her achievements & improvement (best support by any progress report from her enrichment centre, if any).

Then wait for her reply. If no reply within 3 business days, walk in to the general office to ask to see her (ya, need to be thick skin 8)). At the same time, go meet your MP at the meet-the-people sessions. Request for a appeal letter to be sent to the school principal on your behalf.

Lastly, pray hard for a vacancy

Suggested that, but according to d principal, chances shd b given to d bully. \"We shall forgive & let him learn fm his mistakes\". :stupid: & 1 more ting.

Hmmm.... this reminds me of something. One of my hb fren mentioned that his son was always buliied by another boy and the P stand was Forgive and Forget - so he told his boy - next time the boy bully you - whack him up! And the boy did that!! The father kenna summoned to the office to answer for his child's whacking of the bully -- and he just told the P \"You told me to F&F rite?\" - so whats the issue?

Haha - but the best part is - after that - the bully never came and disturb the kid anymore!!

Sigh! Sometimes -- i wonder if schools are teaching 'wrong' things to the kids!! I mean too much F&F and you end up the bully not been \"trained\" and punished accordingly - and thereby leading to the 'good boy' going to an extreme measure! :roll:
