      Oh she can access internet?

My maid of a year just requested to tap our house broadband to her internet mobile. She said she want to go into facebook. My kids had added her as friend in their facebook!!! 😐 I don't even know it. Still considering whether to let her tap or not.

no, she can't and she is not allowed to... but i am amazed at her IT knowledge.. is your maid Filipino?

Yes. Mine is Filipiino.[/quote]I hired a maid to work for me, not to skype. As it is, their attitude sucks. If I allow her to access internet or Facebook, no need to sleep or work.

I told my maids to sms after they retire to the room at 10…well, I only have to say it ONCE and they remember that very well but not for other things. Then they chat and sms the whole night and not able to wake up the next morn…until hubby had to ask me to wake them.

Then they find excuses to go downstairs to buy phone cards to top up…problem is they don’t come back until after 2 hours.
If allow them to access Internet, what is next ?

Oh my gosh...I didn't know that maids nowadays are so tech-savy! I think when choosing maid better to get one from the village / kampong area. Fortunately, my new Indo maid's home is in a kampong... so far, very appreciative and good learning attitude... not so blur and quite familiar with appliances etc cos worked in Malaysia previously. Asked her whether she wants to telephone and speak to her relatives. She wants to write letters to her sister working in Malaysia... cos her sister does not have handphone! Agreed that she can talk to her family in Indonesia once a month.

4 maids, one smarter than than the other...and I also learn their nonsense and how to handle the next one.

Filipino ones tend to be more tech savvy. Usually Indon maids come from kampong. Now most of them don't write letters...they sms bcos it's cheap and reply is fast. My first maid was the only one who don't spend her hard-earned pay on phone cards.

Anyone have heard or use FME Management at Bukit Merah View? Any comments? Really need to change my current filipino maid who is with me for 4 mths plus. she was very pro active in the 1st 1 1/2 mths, then she slack and short cut on jobs. she can tell me very nice things but action speaks louder than words. her performance is very bad now and really need to change her. Her hygience level is poor, safety is lacking and cant be told off when she makes a mistake. she would give excuses when I ask her why never folllow instruction or do the way i taught her. She would touch kids shoes or pack our shoes or touch rubbish never wash hand and do other household chores. she cut corners in cleaning the house and even drank hubby’s expensive coffee when we bought her cheaper 3 in one coffee. After repeatingly tell her to wash things properly, check and recheck after completing task but she can ignore. and when I pin point her mistake, she is not happy. today,my son fell and knock his head against the toilet bowl after going washing his legs in the toilet as the floor was slippery apparently his wet feet trigger the dried floor that still have detergent that was not rinse off well by maid who scrub the floor. I told her that she cannot cut corners to do work and wait for accidents to happen but she did not heed my advise. Really heart ache that darling son fell and know his head. Why employers are always at the mercy of the domestic helper and mom dont have a ruling to help us in such cases. we paid for their 6 mths salary upfront, 2 yrs insurance, entry test, run away bond and need to pay for their air ticket back home and in such cases that the maids are irresponsible, we have to bear all the cost and sufferings. Its not fair…sigh…

Should I let her be transferred or should I send her back home? How can we make these irresponsible and poor attitude maids learn their lesson that we employers are no push off and that they can come to Sgp and try their luck. Maids now come and try out and if they dont like, they juz ask to be transferred or return to agency and putting us at the losing end. Pls help to advise me any recommendations for good maids for transfer or agency that you can recommend. Really cant keep her any longer and in a dilemma now that its year end and next year darling son going to P1.

                        Hi marmum

In my own opinion, you should buy a ticket and sent her home so that other employer wouldn't have to suffer. Hopefully, she will learn her lesson after this.

Previously, my mum hired an indoesian maid and sent her back home after 6mths. Reason being, she discovered her money missing and maid suddenly had a hp. When asked her about her hp, she keep telling us different story. Funny thing is, she rather sent back home than to tell us the truth. When the employer agency heard that she had a hp, they asked her how come they never saw it when checked her baggage (when they first arrived in SG)?

My advise to all those who wish to return/exchange your irresponsible/poor attitude/notti maids, pls get them an air ticket and fly them home. This will help other employers like us parents save a lot of trouble.

I'm glad to say the maid employer agency has been helpful to us. We used Homekeeper @Bt. Timah Shopping Centre, Level 4. At least, they don't insist us to take on a new maid or transfer the maid. Choice is ours.

I saw your previous msg that your son fell and hit the toilet bowl. Our ex-maid instead of looking after my girl, she was watching TV and caused my girl to trip on her leg and head hit down straight on the floor with a loud bang! She was only 1yr old at that time. :x
