During orientation the Principal mentioned that the \"No Exam\" rule was island wide. So I wonder if the new Principal can do anything about it.famangelina31:
She could be reading this forum
Better still. We should express our displeasure here, then.
But she did mention that the students will have \"Excercises\" which maybe be just as good to prepare the students for P3 exam.
But they did get the new P1 students to do some kind of test/quiz/assessment/excercise (whatever they call it now) during the orientation on saturday. I wonder how they would use the result because the students are already split into classes. Any idea? Did they do it last year? -

No, last year the parents were busy filling out forms , no tests during orientation.

You mean they were assessed during the orientation for this year :!: -

I am surprised at this! Since the kids already got used to the idea of exams, I think the minimum they should is, at least to continue with SA2 as opposed to wholesale take out the exam system.
This is really weird. If they had intended not to have exams for the P2's in 2011, then they shouldnt have subjected them to P1 exams this year. It's like they take exams for 1 year and none the next. Cannot understand the rationale behind this :?qms:
Since the school will not have exam for P2s next year, it may be difficult to stream the students.
Although there won't be exam for P2s, Mdm Lee mentioned there would be a lot of \"exercises\" (aka tests). -

But the recommendation is no exam for P1s only, no? :scratchhead: -

Yes I strongly agreed that they should at least remain the SA2 since our kid had experienced it in P1.
Imagine no exam then the kid would just been thinking all day to play & play. -
