Hi mummies,

Went to their orientation last fri and all their small size uniform is OOS. The lady told me the stocks will be in from 17 Dec onwards.

May i know when is the last day they selling the uniforms? Did any mummies here get their contact number. Thought of calling them to confirm that the stocks is in before heaing down in case it those stocks is not in yet.

Or... anyone their where is their retail shop since we already know which house our child belong to....

If you have given your contact and uniform order to Book Shop, they are suppose to reserve the stock for you. If you have not done that.. please do so. I assume there will be a stampede on 17th Dec, as many concerned will be heading back to grab the uniforms.

Hmmm, from your description of the grouping and the activities, I interprete it as HW will allocate the classes for P1 kids according to their academic abilities.


I wonder couldn't the various measurements for the uniforms, eg measurement for chest, waist and length of skirt / pants be stated in the letters to the parents. At home parents can just measure up their kids. On the day itself, parents just indicate what size they want, so that can reduce the queue.

I also think so, but my son was super vague (I think he was missing his best friend from kindy).

Anyway, their uniform is very stretchy. come to end of it, parents will still want their kids to try out first before buying.

:lol: I think I shop clothes online too often for my kids. I'm happy as long as I have the measurement for the chest and shoulder for blouse and measurement for waist and length for skirt. My daughter is skinny and tall, so most likely will have to tailor made the uniform if we are successful in the registration next yr.

The School has a fair policy for children. Through these simple test, those whom are in the above category are identified and special attention can be given to these students.[/quote]I was surprised when I found out recently that kindy/pre-school education is not compulsory.

The School has a fair policy for children. Through these simple test, those whom are in the above category are identified and special attention can be given to these students.

Thanks Lionheart, I had heard about schools conducting such activities (my son insisted on using that word as opposed to 'test'). I think this is good so that early intervention can be sought for kids that need such help.

In any case, I didn't prepare DS1 for such activities - though I think it'll be good for me to know if DS needs help in any area. :celebrate:

Thanks for the feedback. The Changing Room indeed was a letdown. We had anticipated the crowd but plan wasn't enough to ease the long queue. The problem lies in 2 area; The supplier gave us samples but it wasn't enough to go around. Secondly, the stock problem worsen the issue as there were lots of queries from concerned parents. We had a review after the event and the concerns were submitted to the School. As per suggestion from the PV, we will open up another 2 more rooms for changing room, while we will request the school mgt team to seek the school to have the Bookshop to improve their act in the next orientation.

Thanks for the info. Actually if kids could queue in their approx sizes, that could be good also. The staff there weren't of help at all to suggest a size for us to try - I'm the clueless type that don't quite know how to buy sizes; if there could be suggestions, then easier.

That said I'm impressed that there were questionnaires to ask parents if they wanted to be the parent class rep etc - didn't know that parental involvement is so high in HWS (not a bad thing).

Yes. .they are not test.. just playing with shapes and alphabets. Hong Wen has dedicated teachers e.g. LSP (Learning Support Programme) These teacher are good ally of PSG, and they are very nice and patient teachers. But i seriously hope i don't see any child to join these classes.

If the grouping of the P1 is to ensure that all pupils have the opportunities to reach a certain level of academic competency, do you know when the school will start grouping the kids into classes with good academic results, average academic results and below average academic results?
