All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

Hi,
Can someone clarify?
If PV parents will be able to register their kids at what phase and in what circumstances ballot is required?

Now I have a big headache. Both school that I am interested to do PV are within 2km not 1 km. Should i move to within 1 km. Headache headache
Moving to within 1 km of the school will definitely give you better chance. If a school needs to conduct balloting for those within 1 km, you will at least be given a chance to participate in the balloting.
However, if you stay within 2 km, you will not even be able to participate in the balloting, regardless how many hours you have put in as a parent volunteer. -

If you have clocked in the required number of hours as a PV, you are able to register your kid in Phase 2B.Can someone clarify?

Regardless of the phase, balloting is required whenever demand exceeds supply. -

balloting will happen when no. of applicants exceeds no. of vacancies.
the first priority will got to those residing <1km.
if the no. of applicants <1km exceeds the no. of vacancies, there will be balloting for them; those residing more than 1km will have no chance to ballot.
if the no. of applicants staying <1km is 20pax and the no. of applicants staying between 1-2km is 30pax and the no. of applicants staying more than 2km is 5pax, and the no,. of vacancies is 40no; there will be no balloting for those staying <1km, and there will be balloting for those 30pax staying between 1-2km vying for 20 seats; for those staying more than 2km has no chance to ballot. -
Hi Jedamum,
So if applicants exceed vacancies, PV have to see if their home distance falls within 1km, between 1~2km or greater than 2km, join the other parents who stay within the approx dist (may not do PV), to see if given chance for ballot?
So can I say if need to ballot, PV will not have any advantage cos staying near is priority. Then do PV or not no longer matters? :? :? -

Phase 2B includes Clan people/church affiliations people/RC people, and PVs. so when it comes to balloting, everyone of the above groups are lump into 1 group and ballot based on distance.
PV has advantage over the 'general public', ie PV gets to join Phase 2B registration which has a smaller pool of applicants as compared to Phase 2C which is open to public (those who are not eligible for earlierphases). Those failed in Phase 2B can apply again at Phase 2C but will be deemed as 'general public' ie their PV status no longer applies at PHase 2C. -
Hi Jedamum,
A bit confuse here. So if u stay within 1km but do not do PV, not Clan people/church affiliations people/RC people, Will u be in 2B? Or 2C?
Paisei. So many question. -

2C since you will be a \"general public\".Hi Jedamum,

Your relationship with the school determines the phase you qualify for, not the home distance. -
Oh. Then that's clear!!
:thankyou: -
