Yup… both are good schools. Maha Bodhi isn’t really that far from Bishan - it’s about a 15min drive down Paya Lebar and Braddell road, and when the Circle Line is complete in 2009, should be even more convenient since one of the stations is right next to the school. So if you don’t want to risk a bet at Pei Chun, go for Maha Bodhi.

My girl will be in Primary 1 next year. So Parent volunteering is too late for me now. Precisely we are worried that if we are unsucessful in Pei Chun, we may have to settle with one of the remaining schools that have vacancy after Phase 2C. In Bishan Area, I think Guangyang Pri is the only school that is not so popular among the Bishan Parents. The reason is obvious and I need not elaborate here. I probably have to consider carefully as I do not want to send my girl to Guangyang. So Maha Bodhi may be the way to to.

Hi! Can anyone tell me more about Cedar Primary School? Is this a good school? Anyone with kids already in the school, how are the teachers? Are they committed?

My girl is due for registration this year and I am rather desperate. My first choice will be CHIJ Toa Payoh in Phase 2B. As I am out of 2km, chances is quite slim. I am within 2km to Pei Chun in Phase 2C, but looking at the ballot history in PC, I don’t think I have any chance. I am looking at Cedar now and would appreciate your feedback.

Hello…anyone has any idea will there be ballot chance for phase 2B outside 2km for CHIJ Toa Payoh? Worth trying? Or give up and go for CHIJ OLN? May end up ballot within 1-2km in OLN if TP unsuccessful 😞

I’m a PVs of both Peichun and Konghwa (yes… very kiasu!) and i must say im pretty comfortable with Peichun.

Peichun is a bigger school and the surrounding neighbourhood is actually quite heartlanders and down-to-earth. I prefer my kids to be in such school viz-a-viz a "rich-man" school. I want to teach my kids from young of knowing that there are a lot of poor pp out there and not living in a rich man island!

From my experience w Peichun, the interesting thing about the school is the children who got in are really those who dont come from well-off family but the children who graduated there have pretty good results. Hence i guess this school is doing something right inside there - in teaching and grooming the kids!

Whereas for Kong Hwa, i must say im disappointed with the size of the premise - it is really small. Whereas on the neighbourhood, i must say it is in Geylang neighbourhood which i dont really like!

Hi JJJmom, I wish I could be in your position ... at least my choice would be clear. Without hesitation, I would choose OLN because of its distance and don't have to subject to the ballot stress! Looking at the take up rate at TP, I think there is going to be balloting for more than 1km.

If you are within 2km to OLN, you can consider Holy Innocents. My cousin is a teacher in the school and she is filled with praises for HI. Unfortunately, Hougang is too far and I don't want my girl to spend too much time travelling.

Very stress leh, still no feedback from anyone on Cedar Primary! Looks like nobody knows about this school.

how are the chances for Maria Stella for Phase 2C within 2 km ? I tired to call the school but they say they are very busy and don’t have time to check for me.

HI is also a popular sch..remaining 90 vacancies for phrase 2B and 2C..therefore highly likely balloting is needed for 1-2km.
I m also keen to know more abt Cedar Pri..I think this is a mixed sch and is not affiliated to Cedar Secondary sch right?
What abt Kheng Cheng and First TPY Pri?

My first choice is CHIJ (TP) - hopefully no balloting required for <1km under 2C. 2nd choice would be Marymount Convent.
