All About Full-Time Maids

How's your new maid? I will send mine back cos I discover she focus on herself image more than anything! She wears perfume and fanciful hairpins when go out with us. She has alot diff patterns hairpins and clips. She handwqebmy clothes but machine wash her clothes! Then is too good life right! She don't greet people, never say sorry mdm when make mystakes, just smile away! And just realized she got alot barang like cosmetics in her pouch, powder sponge, night cream, moisturer. I advise employers to check their belongings when the maid first reach the house! I learnt my lesson, will be strict with the next maid!

My son fall twice but she did not says anything and it's my elder son told me when I saw younger son forehead swollen. She looks around and I hot to feed sons when dine out.

So far mine is ok. I was a bit scared becos she likes to hum and sing when doing work - but figure it's just getting used to. My kids actually adore her (I was impressed, they were never this close to the last maid). Her shoes are pretty fancy, but her clothes quite simple and look a bit old. I think it's becos she's from poor family with 6-7 siblings to feed (she's the eldest). So far, I understand she's not too fussy with food, able to sleep at night.

She came with long hair, but agent brought her to cut her hair. She doesn't seem too upset about it.

She seems willing to take instructions. Second day she poured away some soup in a pot that was meant for me. I told her to check with me - she did look sorry, and i think it's my mum's fault for telling her to wash and keep (my mum's english limited). So all in, now we're all in the honeymoon period. :love: hope this time can last.

I really fed up of princess maids - this one is not, for that, I'm grateful.

Thanks for your reply. Yesterday we sat down & discuss this issue with the children and the maid. Both kids agreed to behave and \"stick\" with the maid. We also highlighted to the maid about the safety and emphasis to her this is her responsibility and 100% was her fault of losing my daughter. Anyway, my boy also get \"lost\" so many times on his daddy hand. :lol:

I forgot 1 good point abt her.
Last month we bring her to see dentist as she claimed that she cannot sleep well because of the pain. We spent $90.00 for the bill and my hubby paid for it. Month end, when i gave her the salary $20/mth (as she has not clear her loan), she asked us to deduct the $90.00 fr her salary. We did not do so as we appreciated her helps even only for a short period.

Hey, my 2nd Indon maid dresses up even when going to a supermarket ! When we go to mum's place, she has the cheek to lift up the pot covers to see what is there to eat :x Told her to knock before opening the door but that never got into her head. She disappeared in the room exactly at 10pm and only switches off the light close to midnight. Last straw was when I told her to mop the floor on eve of CNY and she asked me, 'need to meh ?' :x
Boiling mad with her and can't wait till after CNY to send her off. Got agency to get airticket, arranged for pickup service to send her to airport. That morn, told her to pack her luggage 2 hours before the driver came. Gave her pay and made her sign. Stood there while she packed. She was so shocked and called home. I didn't pity her bcos she drove me nuts with her rudeness and laziness for several months.

Gosh, maids like that are a nightmare to have. I think it's really important to have one that accepts instruction. I'm impressed you suffered her for months!

at least she know how to say sorry! mine nv says sorry b4, just smile and even after agent scold her then she also nv apologize when done wrong things, pissed lor. oh, i rem that when the agent called her the 2nd time, she shout and yell at agent then broke into tears. i nv seen her raise voice b4 so i scare maybe that is actually her 'real self'.
her eng v v poor, your maid eng ok? or very bad?

and don't know why, my younger son hate her, always hit her and don't want her to carry but my younger boy never did that to my current exisitng maid lei. :?
i cfm this maid of mine did not come from very poor family cos i just realised she live in southerneast of myanamr(more crowded area) that is surrounded with lots of people and buildings and all her clothes are very new.

another thing is she is damn slow. as i live in landed, she can spend 4hours at level 3 :shock: which when i heard from mil, i was stunned too..! my level 3 chores : sweep, mop 2 rooms, clean the display, scrub toilet. when i was doing that also do not need 4hrs lor. i guess she 'snaking' at level 3.

My daughter was about 3 and son 7 years old and in P1 then…no time to find and train new maid. She is to cook early lunch (10am) so that can mop and clean up while I attend to the kids. Then she looks after daughter while I coach son in his work (afternoon session).

That maid was a transferred maid…claimed that her prev employer’s children bullied her. Not much choices then as I didn’t want Filipino maids.
Had to teach her to cook instant noodles. After 2-3 months, her rudeness acted up…I can accept no one is perfect but cannot accept rudeness or poor manners. Most of the time I closed 1 eye but still made sure she looks after my daughter well and keeps to basic hygiene and safety measures at home.
