hquek,
ya lor, then your new maid might as well learn chinese then. my new maid eats slow, do work also slow.
i also suspect that she not caring to my younger son aged 2.5yr old that why he has such strong reaction towards her. if not why he purposely wants hit her when she approaches him. -
janet_lee,
then currently you still have maid?janet_lee88:
I gave the maid a pail to wash her clothes. Told her she is not allowed to put her undies with our clothes in machine but never obeyed !Joeyz18:
Hquek,
How's your new maid? I will send mine back cos I discover she focus on herself image more than anything! She wears perfume and fanciful hairpins when go out with us. She has alot diff patterns hairpins and clips. She handwqebmy clothes but machine wash her clothes! Then is too good life right! She don't greet people, never say sorry mdm when make mystakes, just smile away! And just realized she got alot barang like cosmetics in her pouch, powder sponge, night cream, moisturer. I advise employers to check their belongings when the maid first reach the house! I learnt my lesson, will be strict with the next maid!
My son fall twice but she did not says anything and it's my elder son told me when I saw younger son forehead swollen. She looks around and I hot to feed sons when dine out.
Hey, my 2nd Indon maid dresses up even when going to a supermarket ! When we go to mum's place, she has the cheek to lift up the pot covers to see what is there to eat :x Told her to knock before opening the door but that never got into her head. She disappeared in the room exactly at 10pm and only switches off the light close to midnight. Last straw was when I told her to mop the floor on eve of CNY and she asked me, 'need to meh ?' :x
Boiling mad with her and can't wait till after CNY to send her off. Got agency to get airticket, arranged for pickup service to send her to airport. That morn, told her to pack her luggage 2 hours before the driver came. Gave her pay and made her sign. Stood there while she packed. She was so shocked and called home. I didn't pity her bcos she drove me nuts with her rudeness and laziness for several months. -
the agent told me that i had to pay $6x21 days and that is the max anythiing more than that, agency will bear. not to forget, i still need pay for the levy.
chatelaine:
Hi moonee
Did you check with the maid agency whether they book the maid on budget air? I think they charge me $50 or less for transport to airport. Overall I paid less than $250 for flight and transport to Indo.
My previous maid agency told me if the maid doesn't transfer out eg. within 1mth, we only have to pay the levy but not the airfare. Anything more than that, it will be their responsibility. I think that's how a good maid agency work. At least they don't fleece the maid and employer. :celebrate:moonee:
Hi Thanks all for ur response, my agent quoted 480 dollars and thats not including the transport etc... actually they want to transfer her for the third time n make more bucks out of her despite knowing her bad work and attitude. Shes been here for 9 months n Im here 2nd home.
I guess in the event they dnt transfer her they may make me bear for her fare back .
All the agents i encounter will try to make the employers pay for the airfare if they dnt get to transfer the maid. Thats not fair! -
Joeyz18:
But if she doesn't get transferred, will you have to bear her airticket? I think MOM requires that employers pay to transport them out - this maid as long as not transferred will still be regarded as under your care.the agent told me that i had to pay $6x21 days and that is the max anythiing more than that, agency will bear. not to forget, i still need pay for the levy.
Remind the agency not to let her hang clothes out.
Remember the case where the maid hang clothes at agent's place and fell down? I think the employer was made to pay even though he sent her back to agent. Not sure what the outcome was.

you are so fortunate! envy.
now myanmar maids bio data damn limited and only one 'ready stock' transferred maid whom has been transfered twice, erm... agent told me she find her ok, ask me take and try.
1st employer - transfer her due to current house has got a 7yrs experience indo maid and tend to bully this myanmar maid so in the end the employer gave up and send this maid to agent while get another indo maid.
2nd employer - send her back to agent cos the mother was too hot temper and keep scolding the maid, find troubles with the myanmar maid then employer pity the maid and send her to agent ( abit unbelievable lei)
anyone buy the stories told by the agent?
i am wondering should i get indo maids? but i am scared by the recent 12yrs old gal case.mrswongtuition:
My experience with Indon maids so far:
1. Choose older ones, at least 28yo. They are more mature, know how to think for their future (work hard and save up to go back to open small biz for long term sustainability)
2. I prefer ex-Msia or worked in Indon as housemaid or food outlet (hygiene level is abit higher and know how to operate simple kitchen appliances and can cook)
3. Single or married is secondary, no ailing parents at home. Preferred has some form of responsiblity at home (kids need to go school or young siblings need to go school)
4. At least high school education (their English is really better)
My current maid is superb
My mum got a new maid and she's great too!

huh! then i might as well buy a ticket and send her back! cost how much?

joeyz,
That 12yr old girl is a tragic case - probably an extreme example. Just practise the necessary precautions, and I think mrswongtuition's criteria is good.
My last maid that just left didn't have a care in the world - got 'rich' boyfriend, got sister running a business, she was more a princess than a maid. We were constantly wondering why she would want to come out to work. Anyway, she didn't last 2 years and she asked to go home early.
My first indo maid didn't have ailing parents nor kids to support. but she was from a poor farming family (they didn't even have phone in the house, got to call neighbour who will then walk over and tell parents to come and take call type) and she lasted 5 years.
For your case, you may want to confirm in writing with the agent - what if she gets hurt or ill during the 21 days when she is with them, who bears the responsibility; and cost of repatriation.
If your maid has finished her loan. lion air has pretty good prices for indo fares back (http://www.lionair.co.id). Else try the usual airasia/jetstar route.
if she's not been good in her attitude, I really would just choose the cheapest route possible - even if she has to camp overnight in JKT airport.
BTW, cancelling work permit is very easy. Just log onto MOM website using your singpass and you can have the wp cancelled. print out the special pass for her to bring to the airport. But if she's the type to resist, then you may want to get agent to do the bringing. -
Hi Joeyz18,
I have no maid for exactly 2 years today.
Went out today. While resting my feet at Taka, saw a maid about to knock out while tending to employerโs baby. Fortunately the bb was in the pram and not carried by maid. Employer came and chided her for falling asleep. -
Janet_lee,
Are you SAHM? So donโt need maid -
chatelaine:
Hi, No arrangments hv been made for the maid to fly home yet, actually I waited near 2 mths for a fres maid to come in but encountered some problems with her entry, then came their elections and the agent mentioned that none of the maids could come out. Ive been hanging on to this extremely stubborn, sick maid up to now. Im just getting ready in case the agent try making me pay for the airfare in the event that shes not transfered. My maid does not really wnt a transfer but the agent says she has 2 months loan left.Hi moonee

Btw, my maid has bad gastric and my mum has been giving her very good gastric medicine. She gets severe pain at least twice a month. ..Has seen the doctor but he gave only mild gastric pills that dont work, i don t thik we can supply her medicine for the next few months as what my mum give cost 30 bucks for a months supply.
My maid eats pure red chilli raw in the past and has had stomach aches since 17. Just wondering, what would u guys do if u had a maid that is always sick?
