Hi ..need some advice ...my daugther PSLE T score is 252 .

She is very delighted with her result ..as she did not expect to cross 240.

She is wants to go RGS (260-2010 COP) or Duman High(258-2010 COP).

Her chances are very low am i right ? Any advice to us ?

Sorry to burst your daughter's little bubble but it seems that both her dream schools are beyond her reach, how about RV, that is nearer to her T-score and does she has HMT to add on?

25hourmaid , thank you for your advice ..it really burst ( risky) now ..she does not have HMT. She feels like the sandwich class now ... :(
She might want to consider SCGS or MGS.
Is it advisable with the choice

          1. Cedar
          2. Crescent
          3. Bukit Panjang
          4. Tanjoing Katong girls school

Any other choice better we stay in north sembawang.

would aprreciate whether we need to go in order off cut off / since cedar i heard cut off is 246. If i put in first choice will i loose the crescent also(which is 240) how is the choice allocated?

          Thanks would appreciate any suggestions

based on yr choice , you seem to be quite open in travelling , those schools seem quite a distance right ?

would appreciate for suggestions yeah have seen all are a distance 😞 not sure how to go about it
246 u are left with gd choices , crescent is gd ( minus travelling) and cop is safe , but u can try chij st nicholas though cop is 247 , maybe lower this yr and amk quite near , currently holding site at toa payoh not too bad, yr kid take HMT , is yes yr t score can be higher with hmt for chij st nicholas

I'm very disappointed with my results.

              I got 230 + 2 (HCL)...can I put the choices as below:

              1. Nan Hua (COP 09:242)
              2. Commonwealth (COP 09: 236)
              3. Swiss Cottage (COP 09: 234)
              4. Clementi Town (COP 09: 230)
              5. Fuhua (COP 09: 229)
              6. Kranji (COP 09: 229)

or should i give up Nan Hua and put COmmonwealth as my first choice and my last choice be Jurong (COP 226)

              thanks in advance.

Don't be disappointed. 230 is not a bad result.

My advice is to give up Nan Hua. The COP is too far and beyond reach. And your current last two choices do not give you enough safety net. So it will be good to put Jurong as your last choice.

Thanks for the advice. After consulting my form teacher, i've decided to drop Nan Hua. My teacher actually told me that COP may increase cos the papers were easy. If that's the case, should i put in Jurong (5th choice: COP 226) and Bukit Batok Sec (6th choice: COP 221) instead? Then take out either Fuhua or Kranji??

Any other schools in the West that i can select? Also If i'm willing to travel, can i put Chung Cheng High (Yishun)?

I'm so confused now.....If you are me, what will your 6 choices be? Thanks all in advance!

247 , is it risky to try SCGS , their COP was 251 last yr

How about Cedar? It is a v good school.
                I was from there πŸ˜„

Yr first choice must be HCI not RI. Choose yr 2nd choice wisely.

Thank you very much. I was also thinking that RI may not be a safe choice for 258. Your input confirmed it. Thanks again.

                  Hi tiger262,

If u want ds to go to RI select RI as your 1st choice. Allocation of schools is based on merit. (258s will be allocated b4 257s). Last year's COP, think is 259. My guess is it COP may drop slightly this year.
I agree. MOE allocates schools based on MERIT. So if your son wants to go RI, he should put RI as his first choice. If he doesn't get it, he'll be considered for his second choice.

Dd got 238. I live in toa payoh. Which would be the 6 choices? Totally confused. Should i risk putting crescent as first choice or will it be wasted? Will COPs drop this time? If i want dd to get into CHIJ TOa Payoh should that be my first choice?(she is not from IJ primary) If 2 people with same score apply to IJ will the person who put CHIJ as first choice get preference over the other person who put it as second choice?

Pls pls help... Thank you all soooo much.

Try Cedar girls as first choice. COP drop this year.

                    I agree w INNOVATE.
238 is really tough to try Cedar. It is as good as blowing away the first choice. Why take such risk?

Try only if your child's T-score is 1 or 2 points away from last year's cut-off. I'm coming in as an old girl & ex-prefect point of view. I remembered every year there would be many girls waiting outside Principal's office with their parents (appealing to get in) and these girls are all 1 -2 points off cut-off.

Sure we can take risk... but let's take measured & calculated risks instead.
For NJC, the HMT cannot be used, so you will be entering with 256 which is one point lower than last year's COP, but no harm trying.

Are you a girl or a boy? If boy, can try HCI and you can use the HMT points.

girl. So HCI would be out of the question. Am wondering which others besides NJC since am hoping to get into IP program.

If you are only targetting IP schools and are restricting to schools in that area, then I am afraid your choices are very limited, but if you are willing to travel a bit, you might want to consider Dunman High and River Valley High with you score. Both are SAP schools and you can make use of your HMT points.

On the other hand, if you are open to good schools in the area, you can try MGS or SCGS. Both are good schools and you would have no problem entering either of them with your score.

Another consideration if you are willing to travel a bit, is to consider Cedar since they are one of the 7 new IP schools in the future, though of course, you are not affected when you enter next year.

                      Hope that helps.
THKS ! Much appreciated. Am already DSA-ed into MGS, just hoping for a shot at IP.

                        Dear all,

my son scored 246 for PSLE. Little disappointed.

Which are the good schools, he can choose from ?

Is ACS(I) within reach ? How about Victoria or SJI ?

thanks a bunch to all !

                        :?
