DD score is 234 + 2.

Her 1st choice is Cresent Girls (2009 COP - 240) but I am not sure if she can make it. But there isn't many good school around Bukit Merah. 😞
should I try that?
Anyone ex-CHIJ St. Theresa? COP is 232 but the 2009 GCE O level result average is 16points., does that mean the school is no good in producing quality student? :?
You will not stand a chance in Crescent Girls as 234 is quite far away from their cut-off point last year. Crescent is not s SAP school so you can't use HCL pts to add on. Suggest you choose schools with 1 to 2 pts above your T-score.

last yr when the highest score was 294,RV lowest aggregate was 251.

This yr since the highest score has dropped to 282,and my child scored 246 including 3 marks for hmt.Do u think it is passible for her to go to RV with that score? She aso scored both A* and distinction for her Chinese.
You can give it a try but your 2nd choice must be a wise choice. You can appeal if he/she fail to get in
My DS scored 254+2. Here are the choices. Please comment, I need you guys' help in making the right choice for my son.

1st: HCI
2nd:DHS
3rd:NJC
4th:ACS(I)
5th:VS
6th:CCHS

We are just trying our luck on NJC and DHS....

Why don't you consider RV is distance is not an issue? The score will be safe with RV but borderline for HCI, DHS and NJC.

Hi, Finally someone mention RV ... can you give me your views abt the school my boy scored 255+2 strong in English A* , Maths A* , science A, Chinese A. which IP school do you think we can put as 1 st to 3rd choice?

Millions thanks :celebrate:
RV, DHS, HCI you can use HCL (255+2) to apply but not for NJC as it is not a SAP school. So base on your score, RV stand very good chance, HCL & DHS boarderline and NJC below their cut-off point last year (lesser chance).

would you tell me which newspaper has this news?

actually majority of the top scorers of 2010 come from GEP, they should have DSA offer already.

jtoh:

I was reading the newspapers and it appears that quite a few of the top PSLE scorers this year have decided to go either RI or RGS. This was also the case last year where a majority of the top scorers (as listed by MOE) chose to go RI / RGS.

ST and online. And yes, many of them have DSA'd into RGS/RI while others are opting for RI/RGS during the S1 posting exercise.

RGS or NYGH?

My daughter scored 262 + 3 and I am wondering does she stand a good chance to enter RGS or NYGH? If she does, should her 1st choice be RGS or NYGH? Please advise. Tks:D

RGSS for sure

RGS for sure. Yes both are IP. But RGS goes on to RJC and NYGH goes to Hwa Chong. But RJC's A level results, since the IP started, is better than Hwa Chong's A Level results. Just some stats to help you decide. For 2009 A level results RJC 362 out of 1285 (26.2%) got perfect 90 pts for entry to University. Hwa Chong had 212 perfect scorers out of 1104 (19.2%). My choice would be RJC.

If you base on COP alone, then the top five schools would be 1.RGS 2. NYGH 3.RI 4.HCI 5. Dunman High in order. NB: I know that for last year, the cut off point for NYGH was higher than RGS and Dunman High was higher than HCI. But that was for only last year. In previous years, since 2003, it has always been the top 5 ranked with RGS being top and HCI at 4th ahead of Dunman High.

May I ask which years were you in NYGH? While you were there, were there already many china students?

Yes there are lots of China & Vietnam scholars in Nanyang. I know coz my daughter studied there.
