        Hello All,

My son is due to enroll in P1 in 2011, which means he will start P1 in 2012.
Being abit Kiasu here πŸ˜„ But I have afew concerns. . .

As my hubby was from De La Salle Primary (CCK), I read that my son would fall under P2A2, which meant he probably stand a high chance.

Problem is that, we are staying in Jurong West, I just wondered,
        1) If the school bus cld pick him fm JW and
        2) Will he be the First to get up the bus & Last to alight? 😞
        3) Actually, alighting point wld be my parents place in Bt batok thou. . .

Can anyone share if special arrangements can be made so that my son doesnt hv to go tru hours of journey before he reach school/home?

And rougly what would the cost be like?

        Many Thanks! πŸ˜‰
How about ask ur parents to bring ur child to the school... Will it solve ur problem?
U may try to call the school about the transport...
Actually my case is also similar to u but thanks to my mum that she is willing to send my DD1 to the school which i PV now (if can get in)... Or else 😒

              Thanks Mummy of 3 πŸ™‚

I wld call the school for more info.

My parents are also helping me with my 6months old.
So, it would be better for the elder one to take a school bus.
Else if its rainy day or what, would be tiring and troublesome for them,
to bring didi there and there. πŸ˜„
              Thou Dad did volunteer 😐

                Hi All

My dd will be registering for P1 next year under phase 2C. I’m in dilemma : Zhangde or CHIJ (Kellock)?

Academic Standard: Kellock seemed to be better than Zhangde
Location: Zhangde (within 1km) vs Kellock (within 1 to 2km)
Transport: Zhangde (within walking distance, aftercare) vs Kellock (school bus, but if dd stay back for CCA, then it will be difficult as need a caretaker to bring her)

Has any parents here went through this dilemma or any advice? Thanks.

                  hi polyonyx,

within 1km of the sch doesnt mean easier chance to get in.

for my case, my dilemma is whether to go for CHS or MSH.

CHS is academically stronger and within 1km but super tough to get in cos so many housing projects within 1km
MSH is outside 2km but easier to get in based on past balloting history.
MSH has a bigger intake too.

CHS is more convenient for me but MSH is easier to get in.

so u got to see their balloting history and size of intake also, tho i checked already, also difficult to gauge. the size of intake is a factor too.

usu sch also has sch bus for cca hours. just pay extra. do chk with kellock. they shd hv sch bus for cca kids

                    Hi 24-hr mum,

Thanks for sharing. Based on their balloting history, we have equal chance for both Zhangde and Kellock. Hence, the dilemma…

i suppose what u can do is first of all, call kellock to get sch bus no. and ask abt sch bus provision for cca hrs.

if got sch bus, next is how desperate wld u need the after care svc provided by zhangde.

then, chk how big is the academic difference between the two sch.
if not much, can opt for the nearer one. save the transport fee for tuition fees. tpt fee can be 80 to 100, gd enuf to tuitin 1 subject. n the after sch care is gd is u foresee ur caretaker cant take care of the child in long term
