      cherrygal:

I bought the Pop Kids ergo bag and it is very light. About same weight as his cartoon bags. I also ironed on an applique to it to help him differentiate his bag since there is no cartoon on it.

I read somewhere that cartoon bags can only be used in P1 or so coz these kids get embarrassed about it when they see other kids using non-cartoon bags.

Oh no!!! Just bought a cartoon bag for my son. Should I get a plain one to replace?sigh!

Dun worry lah. Just use first. You can always change in P2. Anyway those cartoon bags dun last very long.

Btw - are you guys also buying a \"casio\" watch for your kids? Or is casio considered very 'off trend\" nowadays liao?

I was thinking of getting him a $40 digital casio watch. Wanted to pass him my Baby G but it ended up spoilt so no choice. My boy does not know what's in or out so practicality is more impt. He only said it must be digital.

Sometimes reading these stuff make me feel sad. That there was a time my son likes cartoon t-shirts, cartoon stationaries, cartoon bags and jackets. He even insisted he wanted a Transformer birthday cake. Very soon these will be too embarrasing for him.

Just the other day, he asked me if me, my husband and my daughter will still visit Maris Stella with a birthday cake and sing Happy Birthday for him together with his classmates. I told him I don't think he would want that to happen. He innocently asked me why not.
 Our kids are growing up faster than we know... we can still have our cartoon cakes at home!

My boy is very sad that most of his K2 friends will be leaving childcare end Nov to test out their after-school care providers.

I am thinking should I get him a non-digital. My first watch from my parents was a non digital watch because my parents insisted I must learn how to tell time, and not just read off the numbers.

Wasn’t even thinking of Casio. Just those push carts ones.

the child is only p1 next yr right? they will still be quite childish lah.

i only see some maturity in my girl when she reach p2.

i wonder when my boy will outgrow his passion for thomas, chuggington, lightning mcqueen etc so when we go out he wont pester me for toys again.

usually when will the boys outgrow such toys? p1?

also, when will boys start to 开窍? i still waiting

by the way i noticed MSH’s COP is not on the very high side. shd be a gd thing for my boy if he gets in.

Sorry, side track here: how do u guys label everything. I bought a label that comes with protective film but it just doesnt stick onto his canvas school bag, then I paste over with masking tape, but it came off soon after my boy touched it, how ah?

can try put normal scotch tape over the label. but for canvas material its difficult to stick anythg. maybe try that those luggage tag kind of labels. ie hook a key chain cum label onto the zip

Does anyone know if the children wear their own preferred jacket to school on a cold day or do they have a school jacket that they must wear?

Can't comment on CHS, but for MS, neither my son (going on to P2) nor I felt much stress. Granted there was homework almost every day, but the volume wasn't much, just a few pages of worksheets. The only times when he had many many pages to complete were after teachers' absences.

Weekly spelling lists were short (five only lah), tingxie was 10 phrases/sentences but usually fortnightly. I think picture composition was started only either in Term 2 or 3. Sorry can't quite recall. No CL compo yet.
We attend Berries but no English/Maths classes. Honestly, I think my son sailed through the whole year with zero stress. He did pretty well too cos we got to attend the year-end prize presentation. 🙂
