Got 234 as an aggregate for this years PSLE, which school is a better choice?


Is location a big factor when choosing a secondary school?

We want to choose Maris Stella High but we live in Jurong (west)

You are staying in Jurong west? Any good school in jurong west?

How bout Commonwealth? It's COP last year was 236 for Express, worth a try, do you take HMT?

Location as a factor, to me, depends on personal preferences. I have classmates living in Boon Lay, but are going to HCI since they're willing to travel from Boon Lay to Bukit Timah everyday.

However, if the distance matters to you, perhaps you would like to get a school nearby or within reach with 20-25 minutes of travel time. (My advice may not be that good, but just voicing out my opinion)

1. You can appeal now, if you are quite certain that the school is out of reach with your T-score. Some schools published their appeal form on their school website, you can download and submit to the school now. Otherwise, call up and check with the school of your choice, their appeal procedure.

2. Different schools may be different. Some schools say to pay $20 for the appeal

4. You need to get a proxy to go to the school that you are posted to to register on the 23rd. You need to register to the school and wait for the appeal result. Check with the appeal school, when the appeal result will be out. One school specifically puts down on their website that \"if you do not hear from us by 30 Dec 2010, you can consider your appeal unsuccessful\".

Everyone is eligible for Cat 1 and Cat 2 Third Language, provided they took MT at PSLE. However only the top 10% are eligible for French/Jap/German.

My child has 250+2 with 2A and 2A*. She's planning to appeal to NJC. Does she really need to put NJC as first choice, she missed last yr's COP by 7 points. Icalled NJC, ,they only have 190 places left Anyone understand how the system works?

I assume students are all placed in a straight line starting from the top student first choice school.
Am i right to say, all will be given first choice school first if they meet the COP. Then all the remaining student who missed by first choice will be lined in straight line again to check if their second choice school still have vacancy?

REALLY NEEDED ADVICE AS SHE HAS DONE S1 OPTION. Understand still have chance to alter. She has placed
1. RVH
2. NJC
3 St Nick :? :?

NJC COP is much higher. Quite difficult to appeal.

You will have higher chance in RV base on your t-score. Don't think you have any chance in NJC as their COP is far above 250. Should remove NJC and place ST. Nick as your 2nd choice instead.

if i am not able to get to the first and second choice, is it difficult for me to get to nanhua which is my third choice?score:249+3
