Comparing Chinese Enrichment (Primary/Preschool)

Hi Leanne,
How young is your younger kid? She attended how many sessions then can read one full passage? -
wow. all this is such excellent endorsement for berries.
i also was quite drawn to the fact that berries makes chinese fun. quite in keeping with their cute name.
makes me wanna sign up for DD who is in N1 next year (just a couple months more!).
but what am I going to do with my si wu kuai du series that i bought? haha... i guess there are mummies who are fluent in mandarin though it's not quite their mother tongue, and still send their kids to berries?
hopping over to the teaching chinese thread for more insights...

Hello!
My 2 yr old daughter has absolutely no understanding of mandarin as we are an english speaking family. She does not understand what the Chinese teacher says even though we attended 2 terms of bilingual play club at JG.
I have shortlisted 2 schools - Yu Quan (middle road) and Berries (orchard road) for the YiTong mum and kid class and N1Class respectively. YuQuan class is 1 hr accompanied program while Berries is 1.5 hr drop off program.
My daughter seems to have a bit of separation anxiety when I recently put her in a holiday school, that is a drop off program and has been crying a bit… So unlike her, when at her usual school.
Has anyone tried the 2 mentioned schools and the programs for 2 yearsold?
And any suggestions which is the school I should go with. I don’t really want to change schools frequently.
Appreciate comments! Thanks. -

My dear son 2 attended the N1 Berries at Orchard this year (from Term 1). First 1.5 mths he had very very bad separation anxiety. Cried nonstop the moment we dropped him off!! Wanted to hang around but the teachers shoo shoo us away - telling us not to worry.
However, im glad i perserved... Suddenly from mid Feb onwards - his separation anxiety totally dissappeared! In fact, from then onwards - he super enjoy his class and i must say that they are very 'creative' in their methods to entice the kids. Eg: when the have a lesson on the word 面包they each got a slice of bread, then 糖果 they each got a sweet.
He super enjoy his class - cos each leson sure got surprise one mah!! Even such that now when i go for make up class (with another teacher) i dont have 'crying' probs!
I signed him on for N2 next year liao! And my dear son 3 is going to N1 class next year (so i guess i have to be hard hearted for the first 1.5mths again!).

My son totally enjoyed today’s trial class and asked for more. Definitely will send him to Berries next year.
