      Hi moomoo138,

Only P5 and above will qualify for this award. So can motivate DS2 to work towards it. πŸ˜„

Publica - Sure, definitely will do that. DS2 is doing P4 next yr, so he still stand some chances. As for DS1, like your DS, he'll be doing P6 next yr, another chance to clinch the 'bonus'. :celebrate:

Leanne - Thanks. Although we're happy with DS's current achievement but no harm learning more. May I know what's EISS? Anywhere we can find out more on this. BTW, is it easy to be able to get such scholarship award? DH thinks if it's the top 10% of the level cohort in the school, then almost half of DS1's class (>20/42) would have been awarded then? With all the primary schools around our area, whoa... that would be a hugh number of awardees? :?

            Hi Publica

Congrates to your DS!! πŸ˜„ But did it indicate if he's Top 5% ($400) or the next 5% ($350)? Is this his 1st or 2nd time getting this award?

Rather confused, was told different stories... (1) have to attend some ceremony to receive the award, (2) just collect from school admin office when school reopens. :?
            Tks!

Congrats, moomoo138....From the past 2 yrs my DS received his edusave scholarship, it was only at the award ceremony that we know whether it's the top 5% or the next 5%...cos' his report book doesn't reflect his level ranking. My DD is in P5 this yr & she will b getting the scholarship as well. As her form teacher has revealed her level ranking, we know that she is in the top5%. So if u know yr DS level ranking & the total cohort size, then u shld b able to tell if its top 5% or next 5%.
The award ceremony is usually held in the CCs during Jan. Yr child must b present personally to collect the cert & cheque, otherwise it will be forfieted.

              Hi Pinky88

First of all, congrats to your DD too. πŸ˜„ Unfortunately, we only know his level rank but not the total cohort size. Since it's an unexpected reward, guess the monetary portion is not so crucial but would be good to know if he's top 5% or 10% in the hope to boost his confidence level and motivate him to revise during this vacation. πŸ™

O... and thanks for the piece of information on the penalty for being absent during the award ceremony.

DS also receive the letter this year but not sure if he is the top 5% or 10%. Teacher gave a range for the level ranking (not specific) and he is falling within the borderline case between 5% and 10%, so can't be certain.

No lar. It won't be forfeited. Last year we didn't attend as it clashed with kids' tuition classes. I went to CC to collect the cheques myself few days later. My kids didn't even need to be there. Just bring their birth cert and your own IC, to prove your relationship with the kid and that all. Less than 3 minutes all done.
