The younger the better...my sister's DS started his weiqi course since 4+, the clever boy enjoyed weiqi very much and play very well during class.

Depends on the child. If steady steady type, maybe can start from 4.

My K2 girl abit catch no ball le

                  Hi parents,

                  Need your advice here…

DS is going P1 next year and still cannot read & focus properly so I found him a private tutor for trial lesson. After 2 lessons, tutor quoted me "promo" rate $56/hr for English & Maths. His comment is that DS has some difficulty in learning (quite slow) and could be dyslexic so need different approach to teach him so as to catch up in class. He further commented that it will only be another 3-6 mths before DS can fully catch up with avg kid in school.

My concern is whether the rate quoted is reasonable as I understand that it’s on higher end of mkt rates. Is there really such a thing as to a so-called customised approach in coaching kids that actually command higher rates?

Suggest you send your DS to good tuition center for formal evaluation...they have a lot of students, and know the right level your DS is in...for english, L-center is a good choice...for Math, Enopi, MPM, or Kumor all can do free assessment for your DS...

                      Upz.

                      Lol.
I read back my posting in 2010 and see a double increase in expenditure in two years. :faint:
Estimated expenditure per kid likely to be $600 per month starting next year. :faint:
I think overspend for ds2 already, but he refused to drop math which really is optional, but did a great job in getting him interested.

                      :faint:

There is a similar recent thread, can someone direct me? Thanks!
