This year, classes start at 12.55pm on Mon & Wed and 12.25pm on the other days. No. of PE lessons will depend on the timetable for the class, may range from 2 to 3 days. Couldn't help you on the student care though.Hi all
I am new here. My son is going to P1 at Pei Chun in 2011. I would appreciate some advice on :
1. start and end time for pm lesson
2. number of PE lessons per week. I called up the school and was told that pupils must wear PE attire on PE days. So I dont have to buy so many sets of uniform
3. anyone has any feedback about the student care opp Pei Chun called Toa Payoh East.
I am still looking for student care and hope I am not too late. Thanks for advice ! -

HiDear all
My girl has not received her P2 book list for next year. When I asked her, she said that her former teacher did not give at all. Understand that we need original book list to purchase , please advise.....
Did you receive ?
You don't need an original book list to buy the books. The booklist is available at the school bookshop. -
Freesias, do Pei chun have exams and CAs ? Heard P1 & P2 no more exams, right?

Hi Minty
No exams for P1 this year, only modular assessments.
For P2 - P5, there are SA1, CA2 and SA2.
I'm not sure if there are any changes when this year's P1 batch moves up to P2, as this batch is the first which enjoys an exam-free year. Hope this helps

Hi Freesias
Thanks for the info. I went to the Student Care at Blk 45 and did not find it condusive for study. It is too crowded and noisy. Btw, is there a lot of homework for P1 at Pei Chun ? My son will not have the energy to do much homework in the evening. This means I will not have much visibility when he does the homework at the Student Care.
It is really tough to find a good student care in the Serangoon / Toa Payoh / Bishan / AMK area. Sigh ! I wish I could quit my job and be at home to look after and coach my son. -
Thks, Freesias…
And i just heard also that P1 don’t have CCA, then P2 mid year then need to choose which CCA to join. Only P3 then start the CCA… -

Kids are P1 and P2 don't have much homework, so you don't have to worry about this part. Good luck for your search of student care! -

[quote=\"Callie Tan\"]Can any parent enlighten me how the waiting list in Pei Chun works?? I am intending to put my girl on waiting list... thanks in advance.
Heard from a neighbour that last year, she put her girl on wait list and was informed only during the last week in Dec that there are a number of vacancies available. -
Any advise on what are the before school care centres near the school and whether the school have before school care service themselves?
Also, what is modular assessments for P1 like? Do you think kids can still go for enrichment classes after a long day at school if its like 7.30 to 9.30pm once a week? Is it necessary to send kids to English, Maths and Chinese tution in P1? What is the required standard or level for P1?
Looking forward to the orientation on 29th Dec.
