Now, PSLE is over, S1 posting is over too. While waiting for S1 posting result, can all parents share what had helped your child most in his/her PSLE?

Books? tuition? study habits? mental strength? or spiritual support?

      Thanks

I think good study habit is very important. After sch, my daughter takes her meal, shower and then do work assigned by teachers, then do work assigned by me, can watch TV if prog is educational. We watch Gags, just for laugh. Gd way to destress. No computer games because it is addictive and is bad for the eyes. When she's really stressed, we play badminton. No tuition for her as I coach her in all subjects. Lots of assessment bks and past yr papers to practise.
In summary, positive attitude and desire to do well motivates her to get good results. ๐Ÿ˜„

Have a nephew PSLE this year. He was a computer addict. To make matter worse, the parents used computer as a carrot to entice him to complete his work.

His resultsโ€ฆ 190+. Everyone was "relieved" that he was given the option of express stream. Unfortunately he is still a computer addict. Was thinking to myself that if he donโ€™t change, this is going to cost him in Sec school.

So yes. computer is addictive. Itโ€™s a big NO NO for my kids unless they are using it for school matters.

From my observation, the success factors are: 40% aptitude, 30% positive attitude and consistent work, 20% parental support, 10% tuition

For my case the percentage changes. For my 2nd one - 100% herself (i.e. attitude). For my 3rd one - 100% DH (parent).

Some kids need tuition, especially if parents are too busy/tired to coach them. For me, I quitted my job to coach my girl. So she benefitted and I'm v pleased with her results.
