hi. i am newbie too. i understand i need to apply to be a pv this yr if my son is born in 2006. however, i am confused and wondering if i should choose between rosyth, hougang pri, or anderson pri. (near my mil hse). rosyth has closed application for pv in april. can advise?
Hi kkgb,
Rosyth is definately hard to get in from the review here and there, I guess it's due to their GEP status.
I suppose anderson & HGP is of the same level... normal neigbourhood school?
I can't give you any review of Anderson but I'm quite happy with HGP so far (elder son in P2 this year) to see him enjoying going to school everyday.

My son is having PSLE next month. I would like to thank the teachers, they are very committed and goes all the way to help the kids. -

From my experience, the school are quite tough on the students. The lower primary do mischief (my boy :)) at times but the teachers really make it a point to address the issue. eg. send them to General office for \"talking\"... hahaha
As for PV, I didn't do any so can't really tell u to go or not to go. However if you're staying >1km from HGP, I think PV is the only way for you to get in coz balloting is required for applicants within 1km for the past years.. -
Hi, I am a newbie to the forum. Appreciate if experienced mummies and daddies can advice/feedback on Hougang Pri. is the school good in terms of character building and Academic wise. My girl is due for P1 registeration in 2012, options is really between govt aided school and govt school. Heard that the govt schools are catching up so they are not far off from govt aided school which most of the time is just branding so to say.
Thanks. -
Hi everyone, i am also new to the forum.
Hi Beface, are u VP for HGP? My son is now 4 yrs old, i am wondering if i really need to become VP although i am staying within 1km to the school. I am not familiar with the education system in Singapore, may i know what is the different between govt aided school and govt???
Thanks!! -
Just got a note from HGPS that 2012 P1 will be still in afternoon session. Fyi

Hi
Does anyone knows how many tests are there in each term for P1?
My daughter is in P1. In term 1, she has 1 consolidated worksheet (aka surprise test) for each subject and in term 2, there were 2!
And also, is daily work counted for the grading system or only the tests?
I am a bit confused here..
Thanks in advance
